Default Updated Desktop Mngr, Cal entries disappearing

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone else notice similar issue? In November I installed the latest version of desktop mngr: 5.0.01.28, and ever since the calendar entries on our two devices (Curve and Bold) that are older than 60 days (despite setting option to keep for 90 days) are being removed.

I don't know for certain the upgrade is the problem, but appears to be so.

As a result, I've installed an older version of desktop mngr and will see if that helps; but in the mean time am wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.

thanks

Make sure if the internal memory has enough space to accommodate further data. The above mentioned problem is not solved only by increasing the time span of retention of memory but if the device internal memory is running out of space it automatically deletes the old messages using FIFO (First In First Out) rule.
So my friend please check your memory first and do take backup of the current data before cleaning the memory. Data is an expensive asset in this age.

thanks for the input. I think it would be a strange coincidence that both my BB and my wife's BB (two different devices, one on BES and the other BIS) simultaneously being the same problem, if it were truly the memory. But am curious if I have enough memory. I currently have: 30.5MB Application Memory Fee Space; and Device Memory Free Space of 858.1MB

Is this good, normal, low etc?

The Bold has 256 meg of Flash memory for OS and applications storage. you may be reading the total memory including the added memory card. The added card is for storage of data other than email and addresses. It may be that your exceeding available memory.

To get the Calculated File Free value, subtract the value for Total Amount of Memory In Usage from the Total Flash Memory supported by the BlackBerry smartphone.
Note: Use the value of 62500 KB for the Total Flash Memory for the BlackBerry® Pearlxxx8482; 8100 Series, BlackBerry® 8800 Series, BlackBerry® 8700 Series, and the BlackBerry® 8300 Series, except for the BlackBerry® Curvexxx8482; 8330 smartphone. For the BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone, use the Total Flash Memory value of 94500 KB.

For example, for a BlackBerry smartphone with an integrated camera: 62500 - 46421.3 = 16078.7 KB

For example, for a BlackBerry smartphone without an integrated camera: 62500 - 44373.3 = 18126.7 KB

sorry, my bad, as this is way over my head. You lost me at hello. And by the way, my totals shouldn't be including the memory card as there was section further down separately showing the amount of mem left on the card, which seemed to be about right.

I think what i'm saying is you only have 30mb of free space and if you exceed that something has to go.

But isn't this (that is the 30MB) application memory? The device memory as at Free Space of 858.1MB. What's the difference?

You dont have that much memory for email and other data. The memory you are seeing( 858.1mb) is for storage of photos , songs, ringtones etc. Email goes to base ( 30 meg left ) memory.
