Good catch, great deal..

Many are within the 14 day period... lol....

How many will jump on it and return their purchased 8320 after arrival of the $50 special??

I was trying to figure out if this would work for upgrades or only for new activations. It says "in exchange for activating a new, non-substitute line of service with T-Mobile" which I assume means "only new activations".

On the other hand, if you are out of contract, why can't one buy this phone with a new plan and port the number over (which typically would cancel the old account in the process)? Are number ports from a company to itself allowed? You would probably give up any "member for N years" consideration you might otherwise have with this process as well.

I think it's new activations.

Anyone been successful having T-mobile either price match or issue a credit for the $200 difference in price?

Talk about not thinking, I got a new line with my 8320 and totally didn't even think of Amazon doing their usual deal for the phone with new service.

DOH!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe someone can help me with plan pricing here since I'm a little confused.

On Amazon, the pricing is as follows:
Quote:
Individual myFaves 600 = $49.99
Activation Fee = $35
Blackberry Unlimited w/ Enterprise E-Mail = $29.98
Monthly Service Charge = $0.86
On T-Mobile's Website I'm getting the following:
Quote:
Individual myFaves 600 = $49.99
Blackberry Unlimited Add-On = $19.99
Hotspot@Home Add-On = $9.99
Two questions:
1. Why doesn't Amazon have H@H as an optional add-on?
2. How come Amazon wants to charge me $29.98 for Blackberry service, but T-Mobile only wants to charge me $19.99. I don't see a $29.98 blackberry option on the T-Mobile site.

Any help is appreciated!

The conditional statement at the bottom addresses replacing an existing T-Mobile account. "(5) not use this line of service to replace an existing account with T-Mobile."

Would have been pretty sweet though

The $19.99 is the Unlimited BB plan without BES if you get a phone plan. When I went through the screens on Amazon, you pick the phone plan and then on the next screen there were both the BB plan w/BES ($29.99) and the BB plan w/o BES ($19.99). You can always add the H@H service after you sign up if it's not an option on the Amazon site.

Thank you very much. Weird that I didn't see the BES option on the T-Mobile site. Oh man, I'm so ready to pull the trigger on this. Will be kind of weird carrying around 2 phone (still going to keep my personal phone on VZW - Goodbye MotoQ you POS!).

Wow. So I signed up for new account with T-Mobile last Saturday (switched over from Verizon), and I paid $375 for my 8320 before the $50 rebate.

So clearly I'd like to take this deal from Amazon and save myself $275 after rebates. Does anyone know whether I would be within Amazon's terms if I canceled my current service with T-mobile (still in the 14 day return period), rolled back to Verizon for a day, and then rebought the 8320 and T-Mobile plan on Amazon.

It seems like this might violate one of their conditions:

"(5) not use this line of service to replace an existing account with T-Mobile."

But since I'm in the 14 day return period, couldn't I wipe away my current service with T-Mobile and just start again through Amazon? What do you all think? Any other new T-Mobile activators planning on trying this?

One last question for anyone who's ordered a phone and service from Amazon before: do their deals require a 2-year contract? Their terms seem to indicate that you are only contractually bound to the carrier for 181 days. This seems too good to be true.

Quote:
CONDITIONAL $250 Equipment Discount Included: Your price paid includes an Equipment Discount of $250 that has been provided to you in exchange for activating a new, non-substitute line of service with T-Mobile and your agreement that for the 181-day period following such activation you will (1) pay your balance due to T-Mobile each month and otherwise maintain your account in good standing, (2) not disconnect this T-Mobile line of service, (3) not transfer this equipment to another T-Mobile line of service, (4) not change your T-Mobile service rate plan to a lower monthly service rate--this includes canceling or removing required PDA, BlackBerry, or smartphone features after your product has shipped, (5) not use this line of service to replace an existing account with T-Mobile. If these conditions are not met, you hereby authorize Amazon.com to charge your credit card $250 as reimbursement of this Equipment Discount without need for further approval.

The 181 days is just the Amazon penalty. There is separately an agreement with TMO which would have a term and their customary breakage fee ($200 IIRC).

I don't see it anywhere on Amazon....what am I missing?

I see the ATT Curve and some other phones on TM, just not the 8320.

I try searching "curve", "8320", "T-Mobile"...no luck.

Ditto..customer service invited me to return it and get it from Amazon. CS claimed they have no control over sale of blackberry, I replied this is a T-Mobile exclusive model, which threw her off... I ask for a supervisor and got disconnected.

I can only say that the plans were better in the store....$59.99 1000 minutes + unlimited data, mail, browsing. Amazon plans suck! So T-mobile may be counting on 1. most people not finding out about amazon, 2. or that people think in a 2 year plan they will end up paying much more monthly, than the savings amazon offer now.

(I paid 300.00 for mine at t-mobile store and today sent the rebate papers to get $50.00 back. So I would spend the 200.00 dollar difference in a little less than 10 installments and maybe even get stuck with a crappy plan for the 2 year contract)
