Default Can a blackberry have two calendars on it, remaining separate?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a customer who uses blackberry for their email and calendaring. One of the execs wants his PA to manage all his mail and diary, which is fine when she is in the office, but not when she is out.

At the moment, she has a blackberry for her mail and calendar, and a laptop if she needs it, to access her execs email and calendar.

She doesn't want two devices, or even two blackberrys. What she wants is a single blackberry with two mail accounts and two calendars on it.

We can see some options for mail, even though they only have a single bes server, as we could use an imap pickup or something like that, or even automatic cc to pushmail.

However, we can't find any way to get two distinct, seperate calendars on a single blackberry, or windows phone with blackberry client.

Can anyone come up with a suggestion?

Thanks

Pezzer

the only way is to use a second standalone calendar application as ezrunner mentioned. the blackberry's calendar is set to map with a program (ie Outlook) so you would think that you can have to different programs that you use for different calendars but every time you connect to backup/update it will map all the current programs new and past events onto the blackberry calendar.

I use Google's calendar, with the Google sync application. It allows you to have 1 or many Google calendars (I use my own, my family birthdays, and the Google holiday calendars.) You can select which calendars you want sync'd with your device. It's decent, reliable, and FREE

How does it differentiate events in the two (or more) calendars on the BB. Color coding like in Google Calendar?

Oddly enough, my calendar displays in black, and both my family and holiday calendars display in blue. I don't usually have a need to know which calendar the event is on so that's not so much of an issue for me. I'm not sure if you can change those color defaults or not.

Is that a setting that you can change within the app? In my default calendar, all day events already show in blue.

I meant if you can change the default color in the built in calendar, not what Google Calendar assigns, but I guess that may be one in the same.

Thanks.

Google sync is ok if you use it for both calendars, but I need a way to keep personal and professional calendar data separate when using BES for the professional calendar. I've tried using Google sync for the personal calendar but that cause all my personal items to then sync with BES and vice versa with the BES items going to Google.

The only thing I can come up with so far is to use goolge calendar with it's mobile web interface or Yahoo Go.

Yeah I found corporate and personal emails syncing up and down to be unacceptable also. I turned off my calendar sync for my corporate calendar, and have only my Gmail calendars syncing to my device.

Smile Multiple Calendars

Hi

Using OS 4.5 there are multiple calendars.

There is one calendar per defined email address, each assigned its own colour.

You can turn each calendar on/off or show all calendars

I use google sync and that unfortunately puts all sync'd items under the default calendar... Lets hope they sort that out with an official google sync update.

Regards

Jools

Your best bet if you want to use 2 Calendars would be to use Google sync. You can have a Google calandar and a outlook Calendar. When i used google sync, I did not see my items in the main calandar. Very interesting.

This works right now with O.S. 4.3 but it only syncs the default calendar.

How do you turn a calendar off completely? I noticed that every time I set to show desktop calendar only then exit calendar, when I return, both calendars are still there.
