The battery life has been good (I have shut off tap+send - NFC - as I never used it) and it is working nicely. No overnight drain (even with e-mails coming in).

Two major issues: No way to log off from Skype and WAV files from PBXs can't be opened.

Outside of that, I really like the phone. In spite of what I am being told on CB that I can't possible like it, or even use it.

Would LOVE to enable the Nokia Diagnostics, which were ##634# on WP7 but not on WP8.
Gotcha. I'm not so worried about the Skype thing. I don't use it as much these days as I did when I was overseas, but it's still good to have around. That's odd about the WAV files though.

I only used one feature on it - it should how well the battery was being recharged (in case I hooked it up to a weaker 500ma charger).
Not a big deal whatsoever.
Most Android phones have *#*#4636#*#* which has a lot of similar features to the Nokia short codes.

Found my first major annoyance...

I use wired headphones on a regular basis for calles. I have several different sets (Sennheiser, Klipsch, Beats, and Shure), and the microphone and volume functions don't work for any of them. :/

Is it ironic that a thread about how people are becoming ashamed of their Blackberry phones end up as a discussion about what other phones to buy. Or is it just sad?

With a healthy love of tech, a true fan wouldn't limit themselves. You use what works, discard what doesn't. Waste of time being ashamed of a phone...lol

That's one thing I have heard a lot about.

Yeah, I did some more research and it is because the microphone and ground are swapped between the American Headset Jack standard that Nokia uses and the Open Mobile Terminal Platform used by most others except for Apple.

What I will probably do is buy a set of Nokia Purity HD (made by Monster) headphones which can be used wirelessly or wired, and then if I want to use those headphones with another device like my iPod, I can take the wire from my Beats Solo HD. Expensive workaround considering all of the headphones I have, but at least it will be flexible.
