Recently we have been tasked to roll out Blackberry 8330s to the Home Health nurses.
We are looking for a way that we can create a "uniform" image that can be pushed out wirelessly to the devices. We would like to control the following:
1) Theme
2) Application Icons that appear and order on screen
3) Map the convenience keys
The goal is to make the training and support uniform across the department.
I have printed out the 200 Policy Reference Guide and do not see the settings we are looking for.
You can Block third party apps (should inlcuding themes) but you can not specify which Theme they use (unless you remove every theme except the Dimension Zen theme, but that would be very tedious since you will have to touch all of them.)
Applications icon order you will not be able to control either.
Or the convenience keys, they can be set as the user wants.

Just think about how far BlackBerries have come from then till now... And what else is coming.
djacobs, one way to do this is to reroute all new devices to your department, then restore a "master" backup of another 8330 device that is configured with your default settings. Then activate and ship it out.

I assume you are referring to using the Desktop Manager to restore a master backup?
We are actually running our BES on a VMware and I am trying to do everything wirelessly. Our Verizon Wireless data rep indicated that RIM may be working on some enterprise tools for a future release.
It is odd that around 400 settings can be controlled from the BES, but not those. I do understand the Blackberry is technically a "personal" device (having used a variety of them over the past 8 or 9 years).
