yeah you're probably right....was just trying to find a reason why they might put it at 100% and this is the only thing I could come up with.
Surely no one passes these then?
The beta exams aren't chargeable are they?

Ok.. Finally got some free time on my hands here..

I'm going to be scheduling my BCP-211.. Supporting BB's in BES..

Now I feel confident that I will pass this test... However I don't have too many users using the Desktop Manager and I don't run into too many issue's with it.. I also found the documentation to be a bit lacking.... I've went threw the Desktop Manager 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 User Guides.. but is that really it...??

To those that have already taken this test did you find that much documentation to be enough? Or did you find any other documentation (or threads on this forum for that matter) to be of use on that matter?

Thanks!

I never found any comprehensive study material or practice tests. Then again, I took all of my exams not long after they were available. Not much useful study material available. Either you know your stuff or you don't.

You said you feel confident. Take that attitude with you to the testing, center. Relax and read all of the questions carefully and you will do fine.

Good Luck!

Default BES V5 exams

I was at WES 2009 this year and they announced they would have the BES V5 exams ready soon. I'n not too sure how soon "soon" is.

Do you think it's worth doing the current exams or waiting for the update?

"Soon" usually means they have no idea when. I wouldn't expect to see any v5.0 exams until the fall. I think the v4.1 exams were released in October last year.

Whether or not to upgrade depends on your situation. Is your company going to upgrade to 5.0 anytime soon? Wouldn't passing one of the current exams be better more usefull to you right now? IMHO, why wait.

How long from taking the test did you see results? I took mine in early May.

A colleague was in for the first batch Jan/Feb or whenever and he waited months to find out his results. With all the extensions of the Beta exams and their lack of communications, not too promising of a program from RIM.

I had asked to be in the Beta, even signed up (been with BlackBerry devices for 5/6 years with our Company) a collegue newer to our group was sent Beta information. I had to ask him to contact them and remind them that I was on their list for quite some time.

Well, I passed the BCP-211 test on Tuesday last week, honestly, all I can say is give the 4.7 Desktop manager guide a read (don't forget the webmanager section), make sure you know the activation sequences, and the device menus, make sure that your knowledge expans into a little of the BES side of things and you'll be fine.

Oh, and I come from an environment where desktop manager is prohibited...

Hell if I can pass it.... (I'll let you come up with you're own line there!)

Thanks for the heads up.... I provide all BB for my agency the devices to the BES itself (I'm pretty the only one that touches the BES/BB's no one else wants to do it).

Now that we got a BES I think only 4 users use the desktop manager in my environment, and they barely have issues..

I'll have to look deeper into the web desktop manager, I got it running on my BES but I can't access the login page outside the BES box... I guess I got another reason to get that going..

Thanks for the info, and congrats again!!

Anyone have any previous experience with this company?

elementkcourseware.com - Browse Catalog

They got a few BlackBerry study guides under Computer Professional -> BlackBerry.

I bought the elementk courseware study guides and they are pretty in depth. Blackberry just came out with these about a month ago. I am taking BCP-211 later this week. I will let you know if the study guide helped.

Default I Passed BCP-211

I passed everyone! I bought the ElementK Courseware book early this month and studied for about 3-4 weeks. I felt like I was over prepared, but when I took the test, I felt like I should have studied more on the server side. The test covered a lot of server sercurity and functionality items. The book helped a lot, but there were many questions I felt like were not completely covered in the book.

Yes, I would still recommend the book because it does give you good focus points for the test.

Man I'm so glad that is over with!!! Now on to BCP-213...

hi

i am planning on taking the BCP-410 exam. I am mainly working with BES only in a daily operations environment, so less hands-on experience with the BBies themselves.

Does anyone have recent experience with this exam? I asked my RIM trainer (04/'08) what to study, and he told me the training materials from last year were still ok (Administering the 4.1 SP2 BES server). However I'll make sure to review the latest documentation available as well...

are there any official test exams available? To get a clue on what questions you might expect? How many questions, what type, ...??

Google does not return many results...

Yay! Got my PASSED e-mail.
BlackBerry Certified Support Specialist (v5.0)

Funny thing is that I took the BETA exam before 5.0 was released and before the documentation was published. LOL!
