Question 2 Questions - Application Icon & Menu

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everyone

1. How do I set the icon for the application in JDE 4.7?

2. I have a small application with a button. When I click the button, the menu appears. How do I stop the menu from appearing?

Thanks

Hi i don't know much about JDE 4.7 but i will suggest you one thing if you don't get any good answer here then better go to Google and type "How do I set the icon for the application in JDE 4.7" then you will definitely get the good results.
Because i had one problem like same thing then i have solved using this method only.

Thanks

Add the icon image to your program, then right click on it in the file view and select "properties". There is a checkbox "use as application image".

So what about the 2nd question? How do you keep the menu from displaying? I have a similar issue. I have a ListField and when users click I want to add a new screen to the stack but I'm not sure how to detect the event.

I think I'm missing something. You have a button (ButtonA) on a screen (ScreenA). When you click ButtonA, you want to display a new screen (ScreenB). Where is the menu coming into play?

If you're talking about the standard BlackBerry menu that is displayed when you click the physical "menu" key, then it looks like you need to override the onMenu() method.

If you're talking about a ListField opening up, then it sounds like you have a code problem somewhere.

I have a button on the screen. When I click the button, it displays the next screen, but I also popups the blackberry menu which is same what you get when you press the blackberry application button.

How do I stop the blackberry menu from poping up?

Thanks

Add the style CONSUME_CLICK to your buttonfield.

Thumbs up How to find type of keypad at runtime ?

Hi,

I am developing an application in which I want to find the device keypad is QWERTY or non QWERTY. Depending on this I want to do the further operations.

Is there any direct API to do so?

Regards,

First off, you should create a new thread instead of posting your own (completely unrelated question) in someone else's thread.

To answer your question, I don't know. I would probably get information about the device and derive the keyboard. Storm, then check how it's positioned. Pearl, then you know it's non-QWERTY. Curve, then you know it's QWERTY. etc.
