How many own both a BB & Treo?
Please Login to Remove!
If any of you read my previous post about needing help, you know that I am addicted to gadgets, and am thinking about getting a new Treo. While I love the e-mail functionability of my 8703e, I just love everything else about the Treo. I know the device isn't as reliable as the BB is, but my previous experiences w/ a Treo were great.
That got me thinking, how many of you own both a Treo, and a Blackberry? I understand that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but some of you have to be addicted to gadgets/smartphones like myself. Hopefully someone will make me feel better.

Technically I own both a BB and a Treo; the Treos are all in a box somewhere. Where, I don't know.

Would you like to buy my Treo 700P? It's resting comfortably in my closet. Unstable, freezing-up all the time, which requires a hard, re-sets all the time. Poor battery life, old non-updated software by Palm. E-mail that gets pulled to your device between 10 to 30 minutes intervals.
Not a great choice until Palm wakes up, and fixes tons of bugs. This of course, is just my personal opinion, and experiences with it.
Good luck, but Ixxx8217;m a betting man to say, you will be using your Blackberry, and another Treo will be sitting in its box, like many others.

I'll ditto the other comments.
I tried dual usage for a few months and came back to using the BB mainly because I didn't use the add-ons for the Palm as much as I originally thought I would.
Also the dream of pds/mp3 player that I can use at the gym has never been realized ... unless you're ok with using the reset button mid-workout.

I've read a lot on this board, and on others around the web about people having trouble with their Treo's freezing up, etc. etc. However when I had my previous two Treo's (600, & 700w) they worked great. The only problem I had was with the 700w, when it froze up once. I spoke with my Verizon rep, and I had a brand new phone the next morning waiting for me when I woke up. Why do people have so many problems trying to get customer service? Is it just Verizon that provides good service, or am I just lucky to have a good rep?

I have a Sprint Treo 650 and BB 8703e. I haven't turned the Treo on in about 3 months as I just don't have a need for it anymore.

Yes! I'm glad that there is someone else out there that is similar to me!! Now I can show that post to my fiancee and she won't call of the wedding LOL! I am thinking of getting the Treo and then just switching back and forth depending on the time of the year (Treo in the summer, BB in the winter). When I asked my Verizon rep about that he said that it is harder than just activating the phone because of the fact that on the VZW network the BB data plan and the Treo data plan are different so I would have to switch the plan over. But my thoughts were, wouldn't that just take a phone call to Verizon? It probably creates more work for them than it does for me. Ha!

I have a palm 700W (sprint). To sum it up it sucks! I miss the my berry. The Treo has to have a hard reset done quite a bit.
I am going back to the berry just not sure which model I am going to. The new pearl looks nice but then again the 8700 looks nice too.
So save the cash and stay with the berry.
Question is does anyone have a berry to make me a good deal on the sprint network?

Just curious... Besides the occasional freezing of a Treo (which BTW, I only ONCE had a problem with on my two previous models, 600, and 700w), what other problems have people had? The phone is better than the BB phone, the calender and lists are better than the BB, the multimedia capabilites blow the BB out of the water, the only thing that the BB does HEAD AND SHOULDERS better than the Treo is the e-mail capabilities.

I was going to get a treo, until work said they'd buy me a BB, so no need. Short of office apps, the BB does everything I need and even then if I need office apps I can buy a comparable application on handago.

I have both a Treo 700p and a BB 8703e. The Treo is a Cool "gadget" IMO but it doesn't do anything well. The BB does what is was made to do better then anything else out that trys to emulate it IMO. These days I use the Treo to get online but keep the BB handy for the actual work I need to do.
Treo is a jack of all trades and a master of none....
BB is THE master.....PERIOD. IMO

Bought a Treo 600. Worked Ok for awhile. Some synch problems and it kept resetting itself, and every once in a while, would erase everything. Then the speaker quit. Got a replacement. That one died within 2 days. Got another 600 replacement. Same issues as Treo #1. It finally burned a hole in the screen and made it unusable. Replaced with a Treo 650. Same problems as #1. It finally would not synch at all and I gave up. This was over a period of about 2 + years I think.
