Default UK BES - US Handsets

Please Login to Remove!

Tried looking on the forums but have not got a conclusive answer.

Our BES is in the UK but we have a number of users permanently based out of the US. At the moment we provision their handsets here and send them over to the US.

Is it possible for our US users to get their handsets in the US and then we provision them remotely.

I helpful guide would be good.

There's no reason why not.

The process will be exactly the same for them over in the US as it would be for you over here in the UK activating the device.

Just make sure the devices are provisioned for Enterprise service (BES) - if people are buying them from the local store then they might be provisioned only for consumer service (BIS) - hence lots of long nights going 'why won't it activate...'

I do this with my non-UK users. Luckily I have t-support, so am able to check whether the devices have the correct BES data plan from carriers. 9 times out of 10 (for me) this is the only issue with a remote EA.

I have the opposite, BES is in the US and we have users in the UK. It all works fine, except the UK users can knot watch certain UK TV on their devices.

BES is carrier agnostic.

agnostic, even wiki did knot have a good meaning on it, LOL

I only know of the meaning from when you explained it before as:

It will work with any device / carrier as long as the SIM / device is properly provisioned with a BlackBerry Enterprise data plan.
