Default Rules in Outlook To Move E-Mail...

Please Login to Remove!

Hello:
I'm a first time BB user on a BB8800. I work for a small firm that has a BES Admin that is also researching this issue but am need of some guidance sooner than later.

I use Outlook 2003 on Exchange 2003 - and I use my Outlook client's ability to move e-mails when received to a folder (basic rules in Outlook). The folder structure shows up on my BB - I can view them - but the folders that have the rules applied (i.e. when I receive a mail from [email address] it should go to John Doe's Folder under my inbox NOT to a PST) don't show any e-mail in them. The folders that I've populated with e-mail that I've manually moved to them show up fine on my BB. It's only folders that have a rule applied to move mail to them via the rules schema on the Outlook client.

What gives and how can I fix this - I sort most of my mail this way and will even use another more efficient process if its out there to workaround it.

Regards.

Right...but there is no workaround for this. Anything that goes through a rule, will not show up on the BB, even on a BES, because those rules are server-based and occur before the BB/BES processes the mail. If you find something further, I'd love to know!

Actually, there is a work around. Go to Messages > Options > Email Settings > Folder Redirection. Place a check mark next to any folder that you want redirected. Only the Inbox and Sent folders are redirected by default.

FYI - I checked the filepath you recommended and I don't have any such option for 'redirection'. Just signature, and filters and whatnot but nothing at all about redirection on any of the e-mail options. Perhaps I need to install something from the desktop software to initiate this?

It's in the "Full Menu" when you follow that path.

Actually; when you get to Messages > Options > Email Settings ... you have to press "Menu" again to see the Folder Redirection option (at least on my Pearl, you do).

Sadly; the Deleted Folder (again; on my Pearl) is not able to be checked/chosen but other folders that reside in your Inbox can be chosen/checked.
