Default WSJ reports iPhone for Verizon this summer

Not exactly about Blackberries but may have an impact if true. How many would switch?

I wouldn't, but that's just me

I hate when they make certian products with carrier exclusivity.

I'm thinking after the fiasco with the Droid, I'm not going to be terribly tempted to try it out. But I've read a lot of threads where people say that if the iPhone were on Verizon, they'd switch. Guess we'll see.

Personally, I think a BB plus an iPad may take care of everything.

I am an "iHater" too... Just my feelings.

The hype and nonsense simply annoy the crap out of me.

Diehard to the end here.

However, if I could have a phone to just play around with, I'd rather have an Android device. That appeals to me much more than iAnything.

The source of my iAnnoyance is with the iPod I bought and tried to use. I hated everything about it. iTunes, importing music, burning, DRM. It just went on from there. It just shouldn't be that way. It should be EASY!

DRM and the "walled garden" is my biggest argument against Apple as well. I'm not going to purchase content if I can't take it with me to some other device in the future without breaking laws. Generally speaking, I don't want to buy the right to view digital media under certain circumstances, I want to buy the digital media itself.

That kinda ticks me off as well, why am I going to spend 99 cents a song for music I can't take with me if I switch devices? I didn't know about this when I had the iTouch, and luckily I purchased my music on mp3shake for a quarter of the price (well for a quarter actually) and I have that option.

They either need to lower prices or be more flexible.

I think it is a very good thing myself. I can't wait to see trhe effect it will have on the Verizon network. It will answer some questions.

As to the "walled garden" ATT is doing the same thing with it's Android devices and MS will be doing that with WM 7. I would personally rather have it that way. This way, when I download an app, I don't have to worry about it stealing passwords or bricking the device.

Just spoke with my Verizon sales rep who I've known for many MANY years. He would neither confirm nor deny the Wall Street Journal story about Verizon getting the iPhone. But he did say that it will be "quite different" from what is already in the market place.

My fiancé is studying this rumor hard. She was on att with an iphone. She loved the phone but hated the service. I'm dreading it though. She is HORRIBLE with phones and iphone isn't known for being too durable. I myself will never buy another apple product as long as I live. Their customer service is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. They pretty much have the attitude "too bad for you and I'm sorry you won't ever buy another apple product again, its not going to hurt our sales" I will stick with buying products from companies that appreciate business and want to dp what they can to keep it.

I've heard that as well but some Verizon employees seem to be pretty sure the iphone will be announced sometime this summer. Who knows. I could care less but it would be interesting to see all the att people jumping ship and going to verizon.
