Default 8820 GPS problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all.

I buy a BB 8820 and i have some problems with GPS. I set my GPS, like in manual and other documentations, but it do not work. It don't find satellites, error: Unable to acquire GPS lock. I should make any others settings? (sorry for my english) GPS device is integrate.

Are you outside when you try to get a GPS lock? GPS doesn't work too well indoors.

I am outdoor and indoor. (Romania - Bucharest) with another GPS near BB, it work. That another GPS it work, it is an ASUS PDA with GPS.

Today i was in a flat, outdoor, without buildings around me and it doesn't work. What can i doing?

try updating the soft to the latest

do you have the latest firmware?

I have 4.2.2.166 (platform 2.4.0.55) i search for a latest OS, but the latest OS is in Chinese :| you can recomande my an OS ? French or English

All OS's include English (even if its not mentioned in the file description).

I update my BB, and now i have v.4.2.2.193 (platform 2.5.0.43) but GPS don't work :| The same error: Unable to acquire GPS lock. I don't understand.

i've got the same problem. But i'm in Los Angeles California, and I'm still not getting a lock

it can take 10-20 minutes the first time to acquire a lock. outdoors, clear view of the sky, go to options > advanced > gps > menu > refresh and keep refreshing until it locks onto your position.

yes, the initial first time lock might take quite some time. be patient. if it gives you that error again, keep trying.
