Just thought to check and YES! the bridge files app in OS 1.0.5 will show and open document files on the media card that have been encrypted when security options on the BlackBerry smartphone have been set to encrypt files.

This was one of my biggest disappointments when I got the PlayBook and was initially running 1.0.1. I believe I checked 1.0.3 and it was not there on that version. So this is new with 1.0.5 as far as I know.

By the way, my setting is to encrypt using device password only, not the device key. I have not checked the cases where encryption was done using device key or device key plus password.

and you can open up pics from your SD card too, edit docs and save them as well to SD card
