Default Media Card? New 9810 on Rogers

Please Login to Remove!

Good day,

I just got my new 9810 from Rogers in Canada. I know the phone can take a media card. I just don't know what I can do with it.

With my very, very old BlackBerry, I didn't have room to take a media card. I always wished I had more memory for apps and songs.

My question is this: if I install a media card, will the device know enough to store apps there? Will it know enough to store songs there?

Thanks,
Michael

The media card is for media. Ringtones, video, music. Not for apps. The 9810 has significantly more application storage than your older 8800.

You will have the option of saving media (songs, ringtones, pictures and video) on the removable media card, or the 8GB of internal media storage. As NJBB says the 9810 has much more application memory than older devices, but that is the only place applications may be stored.

with Smart Medai cards, you can do lots more than just store songs, ringtones, pictures, videos, and etc. I have use my BB as bootable Device as well. I uses it as a normal USB hard drive and store various computer images, windows setup, and etc.

That's great information!

Of course, it doesn't apply to the 3 month old question about storing BlackBerry apps on the media card to free up application memory.
