Default changing from pearl to storm

Please Login to Remove!

I would like to go from a pearl (VERY happy) to a storm, mainly to have a larger screen for internet access.
Does anyone have any reasons why I should not do this ?

I do some international traveling, so does the Storm have the same chatty problem as the iphone (iphone goes on internet quietly in the background all the time which causes hugh phone bills) . ie do I need to turn off internet capability before leaving the country even if I don't specifically go onto internet?

Are typing emails on the screen as easy (or easier) than on the pearl ? I have not yet been able to physically see the storm as I can't find any stores in my area that have them on display.

TIA
Pat

I think the storm is a great phone, but not for everyone. typing on it will be a little hard at first. You will enjoy typing or hate typing on the storm? If I was you I would try it out first.
And yes you can turn off the internet service. You just turn off Data Services.

Yes the large screen is very nice, again I enjoy my phone. You may hate it?

OK, thanks I will try to find a place to try it.
But do I NEED to turn off the internet service when traveling abroad ?
If the phone doesn't use it unless I specifically go onto internet, it isn't a problem.

Can I turn off the data service, yet connect via wifi ?

Definitely try and track one down to try out keyboard before purchasing. I think it's a love it or hate it feature.

I migrated from a Pearl to the Storm and I would not consider going back. The suretype keyboard rocks. Definitely try one before you buy. I like my Storm.

i would think twice before going storm. I had the pearl 2 years ago and I got the storm the first day it came out last november... now i'm switching the Tmobile tomorrow.... going to save 50 dollars a month for same plan and getting a phone that is much more responsive with a longer talk time, and a better internet broswer. HTC pro touch 2.... being released tomorrow.

I would not jump to fast for the HTC pro touch 2 to fast. I think Black Berry is much better. Also Coverage on T-mobile is great in some places but going from Verizon to T-mobile my be a shocker. You get what you pay for.

I would wait for the storm 2. Its coming out very soon. Why upgrade now? There are a lot of flaws in the storm that I had to sell mine. I was very upset. I loved the keyboard very much thouch.

I think as a Pearl user you will find that you can type faster. The "keys" are a little bigger and you can really get moving.
If you download the latest OS (.151), you will be amazed at how much better the Storm has become.
