HI Guys,

This is going to be a bit of a long thread, but here goes...

Right, we have 2 servers running exchange 2003. We'll call them ex1 and ex2. ex2 is our newer server (still exchange 2003 though) and has BES express installed on it. ex1 is our older server but only has about 5 people left on it.

So we have been having calendar problems because of permissions.

Now the confusing part...

I created besadmin on a store on ex2 with all the correct permissions set on both the server following the guide on the BES site. delegate control, send as etc etc. When using the IEMStest utility, It fails to open the MSGStore.

So i created BESadmin on ex1 and it opens the mailbox store and for the users on ex1 it works perfectly, but for the users on ex2 it logs on to the CDO but fails with:

Description = You do not have permission to log on. [Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store - [MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER(8004011D)]].

I'm quite stomped here guys as i have set the same permissions on both the servers so any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had to restart the store for my permissions to take.

What version MAPI did you use?

Its 6.5.7638.1. Hmmmm, thats interesting, i might have to give that a go. Have not tried that yet. Anything else i could look at? We were using administrator at 1st and that seems to be on a store on the older exchange server as well.

is BESAdmin a local admin and not a domain admin?

Log on loaclly applied to local policy?

Hi Mate,

Yes, BESAdmin is a local admin and not domain admin. The blackberry services that are running, are running as administrator though and not as BESAdmin. Would this make a difference?

Just a bit more information... cdo.dll is version 6.5.7638.2 on both servers and mapi32.dll is 6.5.7638.1 on both servers

Yes that would make a big difference.

Are you logged in as BESAdmin on the BES thats affected?

Hi Knottyrope,

Yeah, that solved it. I wasn't logged on as BESAdmin. Had another problem where the enterprise activation was getting stuck for some reason. Restarted the BES server again and it worked.

What stomped me was the fact that when the BESadmin account was created on EX1, when logged in as administrator, the IEMSTest would pass for users on ex1 but not ex2. When logged in as BESAdmin it would work for both.
