Default 8310 to replace iPod?

Please Login to Remove!

My 8100 died so I'm getting a 8310 tomorrow. I'll only have the Curve until I get the Bold in Aug/Sep (fingers crossed on the release date for ATT).

Using the new Desktop 4.5 w/ Media Sync could I ditch my iPod? I know I'm ditching my iPod when I get my Bold but what the heck.

Getting songs on the Curve is a no-brainer but I'm more worried about podcasts. I do like the way iTunes handles podcasts and since Media Sync copies from iTunes I shouldn't have any issues..right?

Anyone done this? If so how's it going?

I would not recommend this for one simple reson, sound quality. I use this phone once in a while for music but it has very limited sound control, like volume. No equalizer no bass effects, etc. If the convience of only one device is the most important thing to you then it will probably make you happy but for me I compared the sound, using identical files, to my mp3 player (not an Ipod) it its not even close IMO.

The 4.5 OS does include headset equalizer options.

I'm not sure, I was wondering if there is a third party media player that would have one. I am still skeptical that it would produce high quality sound though. It might be fine for podcasts, audio books, etc.

I will try it. Probably just use it for podcasts then use my ipod for music. I hope the Bold's media player kicks butt!

I just did a back-to-back with my Zune and with both equalizers turned off, the Zune sounds better... but the BB offers far more equalizer options and can be made to sound better than the Zune. I can't speak for iPod though.
