I thought the wing had a 201Mhz TI OMAP 850 processor and the curve a 312MHz Intel XScale processor. Since the CPU makes are different, anyone know by how much one is faster than the other ? In terms of computations/sec ?

I don't think it's as easy as comparing numbers. As stated above, different processors have different speeds.

Even if it has a faster processor look at desktop/laptop computers...you can have the faster darn processor out there but as long as Windows is eating up all your resources it is slow as a snail. That's what happens to the Wing, I had one for quite a awhile and you can get it to run faster but nothing that great. You can over clock it to help but I would still vote for a BB anyday

I had a Tmobile MDA, which i understand had the same processor as the wing. It was slower than mu curve, plue I had to reboot it a lot. I had to pull the battery on my curve sometimes, but nowhere near what I had to reboot the MDA.

I had the wing for about 72 hours and promptly returned it for a curve. I wanted to go with the mobile exchange features on winmo but having a phone that rebooted in the middle of a call was completely unacceptable. Besides we had a BES server so it was one less thing for me to configure or worry about.

A co-worker had the AT&T Kaiser which is a newer model of the wing. He ended up buying a pearl as well. It didn't reboot on calls but it was a lot bulkier and weighed more than a mobile phone really should.

It shouldn't matter what the processor speed is. Everyone love to tout how fast this or that processor is. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is how a device puts that processor to use.

T-Mobile Wing is 200 and you can overclock it up to 400 or so.

all I can say is I had the wing for three days and I hated every sec of it. i finally went back to blackberry, and when I tried to give the wing to my kid (12 years old) she told me after four hours that she hates it.

Processor speed is irrelevant when you are comparing 2 different operating systems.

Yeah, I have mine running at 422mHz... but the water cooled CPU fan really cuts into the mobile aspect of the phone.

I had an unlocked 8525 cingular for about 18 months and loved it. I also had wing that I found on the ground (seriously) for about 2 months before I gave it to my sister, cuz I had an 8525 ofcourse.

I really liked the 8525, and its just like windows xp. The default settings are a little off, but once you tweak it how you want it, the system is awesome.

My switch from the 8525 (older wing model) to the curve:
Things I miss:
Video recording... (Even though I didn't do it that often)
Youtube
Clearer pictures (even though both had a 2mp)
My bigger keyboard
Meh... Super nintendo, game boy and nintendo... (Some bb 3rd paries really need to get on emulators!)
Being able to make other 3rd party internet browsers my default :(
WOW!!! I almost forgot... I so so so MISS TOUCH SCREEN... (I was a 8 year palm pilot user before the phone so I was very very used to touch)

Things I love with my curve:
Mp3 player is a million times better (but I hate wmp on my computer too haha)
Opera mini you are my god
Having a phone half as thick lol
Having a phone half as heavy
Less lag, but still sometimes lag
The godly mute button (no seriously, it saves my butt at work sometimes haha)

U can email me at [email address] then I can give u my phone number or we can talk via email. Ive was a long time user of windows mobile if u want any more insight. I think I covered just about everything though.
