Question Bb Cdma 8330 Curve

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Y'all,

Does anyone know, for sure, if and when BELL MOBILITY or TELUS will be getting the BlackBerry CDMA 8330 Curve?

Thanks.

There is no available information about when, or even if, there will be a CDMA Curve. I expect we will start to hear things about it once the 8120/8130 is launched.

Thanks Bryan for your reply. I posted a similar question to JIBI in response to his article on BGR concerning the upcoming BlackBerry 9100 and 9300 series. However, somehow my post got removed from the site.

(Could this have been an early Halloween trick someone played on me ??!!)

A related question . . . any rumours on if and when Bell Mobility will be carrying the 8130? Apparently Telus and Verizon are releasing on Nov 17.

The one in the Rumor Mill or the one in the Rants and Raves Section?

9xxx is strictly speculation now. As is the 8330.

so no one knows about any cdma curves coming out for sprint or even something similar. I like the curve how it's setup something similar would work though. Wanting something with a camera.

I'm sure the CDMA Curve will come out in 08 some time. Can't see any reason why they wouldn't, when the BB is so hot right now.

yeah I was going to switch over to at&t, but I figure I'll wait because I'm not out of contract so I'll get the pearl 2 until the curve comes out. Oh I love working for sprint getting all the new phones first.

I feel your pain. we had a meeting with our RIM rep in June before the launch of the 8830 and we asked if there was going to be a cdma bb with a camera and we were told no... and now we are getting the cdma pearl.

I was kinda cranky untill i reasoned with myself that i dont like the sure type so untill they release a cdma curve i guess i'll have to continue to love my 8830

The BlackBerry 8330 does, in fact, exist. With that said, it may very well be passed over by some carriers. From a consumer satisfaction standpoint, I firmly believe that would be a silly move on their part, but with the release of the Pearl and the potential success in the consumer market with the first 3G camera-enabled BlackBerry, it may be a financially sound decision to wait until the next QWERTY device (9000 series). Sprint has said they're tentatively supposed to have it available in Q2 2008. Who knows, though.

If it means we will see a CDMA 9000 series model launched at the same time as the GSM model then they can feel free to skip the 8330, otherwise they need to launch it.

So now we are speculating about a series that doesn't exist yet (9000) over a device that may be out in 6 months.

Good thing this is in the Rumor Mill

I doubt we'll see the 9000 series devices on the CDMA networks anytime in the foreseeable future.

Roofus,

On Friday, Nov. 2nd, I was talking to BELL MOBILITY because I had just receved a Novatel Express Card for my laptop. While I was talking to their Marketing Dept., I asked whether or not Bell Mobility would be getting the CDMA BB 8330 Curve. Their answer was no, but that in about one week's time, Bell will be launching the CDMA BB 8130 Pearl.

Take this for what it's worth. (No sarcasm intended.)
