i have been using my office exchange email ID on iphone & on android phone with wifi connection. now i have got BB 9700 but without BIS. i need to know if i can configure and use the same email on bold 9700 without buying BIS (only with WiFi).

Can't. To get a connection to RIM for email, you must have a Blackberry dataplan active on your account, even via WiFi. You need to proper service books and the only way to get them is to have your cell carrier send as part of the BB dataplan.
