I was only asking because when I tried to upgrade, I still had two .148 and the beta appeared to be the one that was preferred. That's all. The only difference I noticed was the .203 and didn't know if that was official.

I imagine that is when VZW will post the update on their site, as it still shows 4.7.78 on 12-5-08 as latest update.

hummm... just went back and it has decided to try and work?

I had checked for the BES service books and they don't exist, nor does an IT Policy. so this is really weird.

For the BES error many BIS users are reporting, do this:

1. When you get that BES error, leave open the AppLoader window which has that message in it

2. Click the link again (the update link from BB website) to launch a second new Apploader instance

3. Continue with the upgrade.

Why users are getting this BES error is beyond me.

required an update to the web based DM... which is weird because I had just installed it to attempt the update.. ugh.

appears to be working for the moment, update in progress.

How did you get it to work? I have a dead Storm that WAS on BES and I received same error regarding update. I am installing DM and waiting on VZW to upload it to their BB update site, and if it remarkably improves Storm function I am swithching to ATT.....Only thing that scares me is battery usage. I have a gov't acc't and receive around 100 emails a day..plus voice usage.

Mine was never on BES, that's what my Bold is for... so that's why i was confused why the update was throwing the erroneous error. If you are on BES you will have to wait. If you were on BES, but no longer are, then remove the DESKTOP[CMIME] service book, if it exists, and use JL cmdr to get rid of the IT Policies.

I am trying to update my firmware to the .148 but when I connect my phone and go to the blackberry website to update it just "checks for update" and doesn't actually update anything. any help would be grateful!

That's not true, as my Storm is only on a BIS right now.

Wonder why.
That is exactly the error I am getting ... I am running .122 I wonder if it is having a problem since Verizon never let out an OS version .122???

My phone showed me a message that stated that I had to update through the computer and not through the phone. I don't think the phone update is available until 10pm EST.

My phone stopped at step 2. It downloaded 221 of 296 modules and then just stopped. Can't figure this one out.

I completed my upgrade from stock OS to .148 a few hours ago, around 3:30 pm California time. I did it with the desktop application. My blackberry has backup issues for some reason, but I managed to upgrade it and then restore application data. So far I haven't noticed much, except that the menu of icons scrolls smoother :D

I'll let it run a few days and see if battery life is any better.

My Storm didn't have any accelerometer improvements sadly.

I wish they'd give us some more themes. :/

Off topic, I guess I'm new here, sup guys.
