Hi!

I'm a new member. It looks like there are 2 email viewers here. I'm looking for something that is less boring than BB email. Anyone have any recommendations?

Both the products are good and there are ardent supporters for both products on these forums so the responses to which one is better generally end up in flame wars.

Both of them come with a trial so you can try them (one at a time as there may be conflicts) and decide for yourself.

You can try them out at the same time but make sure that neither is setup as your default. I am told it will cause a conflict.

I am interested in that one, but it doesn't yet appear as fully-featured as BBSmart and Empower. I'm not suggesting it isn't worth a try; just pointing out my reason for not yet trying it.

As for the duelling readers BBSmart versus Empower, I think the choice comes down to the sort of emails which you tend to receive and the manner in which the reader interpret them for you. Most of the emails I receive are, unfortunately, HTML, so my choice is based upon how the reader handles the code, after the RIM servers have finished mutilating it.

Try each for a couple of days, as they are fully featured during the trial period. And there is no need for concern over deleting them, as they uninstall cleanly.

I tried all three. The ones that cost money do more, but not in ways that I care about, and it looks like I can't use BlackBerry attachments when they are installed (is this true?)

The free one works fine. It has rough edges but the developers seem to want to keep it going. All I wanted was an HTML viewer, anyway.

I use Empower, and my attachments open fine, except for those which RIM mutilates on their server.

Hi,

I've been through a few threads (all closed now) regarding comparisons of "the two" email viewers. What makes people so passionate about particular versions of an application, especially this one? I've also been through a few of your posts and you seem not to have the problem of being emotional about such things, which is why I'm asking you.
