Default How do I remove Telenav?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a ATT Blackberry Curve and it is my first Black Berry, only have had it a week so far. The day I received it I upgraded to the 4.5 OS linked here (great thread on that!), and I have been reading old threads here, but I can not figure out how to remove the stupid Telenav short cut from the "home" page on the Blackberry screen. I have no intention to ever pay $10 a month to get something far inferior to my Garmin Nuvi 750 (no monthly fee either), esply when AmazeGPS is free. How do I kill off the stupid thing?

Thanks!

That icon is just a 'launcher' to help you install it. You can't get rid of it, only hide it. Highlight the icon, press the Menu button (left of trackball) and click Hide.

Hide would be fine, but "hide" does not show up on the menu when it is highlighted.

What options do you see when you highlight the icon and press the Menu button?

Juwaack, I remember seeing it on the app list on each of the multiple OS ugrades, this seems to suggest it can be excluded or removed. You'd know better than I would, but what would happen if they just delete ATT navigator from the apps list on bb or DM?

If it's in the applications list, yes you can delete it and it will be gone from your device....until the next time you resend your service books for any reason.

The 'launcher' icon is put there via a service book, so until the carrier stops pushing it that way, you're stuck with it.

I created a folder icon called 'Bloatware' and put all the launcher icons (and other stuff) in that folder and then just hide the folder.

I stand corrected - sorry to threadcrap, but I'm guessing it's the same deal with this new Yellow Pages icon I keep getting?

Can you not delete any of the bloatware that AT&T bundles on the 8310? Or must you just hide it? TIA

You can delete it but it comes back. Delete it from the service book.

I'm not sure, magic I think. Jk, but it seems to happen when you power off and back on again; the device connects to ATT and those items (shopping & stuff) are I guess found to be missing and replaced.
