Default Blackberry Pearl, PocketMac and iCal

Please Login to Remove!

After syncing my iCal-to-Entourage-to-Pearl last week, I've been having problems with my iCal. In short, it stays open for < six seconds, and then immediately closes. The error message is simply that it quit, and that no other OS X programs were affected.

Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? I tried to delete iCal and reinstall, but that didn't work. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You'll probably have better luck there.

now i tried to sync it probably 5 times, and each time i got the same error as you.

I gave up on PM4.0. It simply does not work with a BB8100.

Advice for anyone that wants to endure the hours of frustration with PM, make sure you backup your AddressBook, Calendar and Entourage (if applicable) before trying a PocketMac product. Also, please be aware that neither PocketMac or RIM supports the software despite it being "officially" released by RIM.

I am waiting to try the Missing Sync software that should be out later this quarter. Hopefully, this will provide a working sync for the BB8100.

That's just plain NOT true. There are issues with it, but saying that RIM doesn't support it is patently false. I have had great support from both tier 1 and tier 2 RIM support for PocketMac.

Okay, RIM doesn't support pocketmac for anyone but you apparently. I waited two weeks before I heard back from RIM, who then provided me with instructions for a Windows XP system. After 10x back and forth of them telling me nothing -- seriously NO troubleshooting was done on their side what so ever -- I gave up.

PocketMac never answered any of the three emails I sent their support, even tho they claimed to still support the product on their website.

Default PocketMac

I have been using Pocket Mac ver 3 with my 5810 (yes... it still works) for nearly two years syncing with Entourage .. with a few idiosyncrasies... notably that you have to open and close the program twice before it will see the BB.

i also had hang ups after i wrote some very long "notes" but after deleting these it again worked well.

I upgraded to Ver 4 and it seems to work even better.

I am using OSX 10.39 and 10.4.8 running on Power PC machines and now, finally, want to upgrade my BB to either an 8700 or 8100.

Does anyone have experience syncing an 8700 or 8100 on a Power PC Mac running 10.39 and 10.4.8 with Entourage?

Please write soon before the shop closes!!
