Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding the setup of the new BES 10 paralell to our BES 5 Environment and hope you can help me.

First: I have download the Trial Version from the BB Site. Is the SRP key also a trial and should I changed it. Or is it enough to change the trial CALs via the Trade-Up Program and the SRP work forever?

Second: For installation - can I use the same Service Account (BESADMIN) for BES 10? Or should i create a second one with all the rights in exchange? The two BES server must work together for the time of migration (more then one year).
Is there a problem if the BES 5 and BES 10 act with the same BESADMIN-account?
Last: i have read that if I Trade up the CALs they will also work with the BES 5 server. is that right???

Only the CALs are trial. AFAIK this is the only thing you have to add for a reals BES10

I use the same service account for BES5 and BDS. Actually, the permissions for the BDS service account are less then for the BES5 service.

regarding the CALs:
They will work on both servers until the end of the trade up period.

Do you know if there is an official document regarding the usage of the BESADMIN account also for the new BES 10 environment?
Or have you tried it and no problem occured?

I just did it. Also, I cannot think of any reason why using the besadmin could be a problem.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account to install the BlackBerry Device Service.

Anyone else find this to be a pain to install? It installs fine but I thought it would be an all in one and not 3 separate installs. Also getting this error

HTTP ERROR 404
Problem accessing /webconsole/login. Reason:

If it was an easy setup and install I'd be all for trying this out but it's the same thing as Fusion was a huge pain to setup

have you read the KB32547 ?
this describes the Installation on one host server...
