So, does anyone know if Leopard is going to break PocketMac?

Seems likely. Missing Sync is already touting Leopard compatibility, so at least there's an alternative when PocketMac announces they're shipping a Leopard-compatible version in 2009...

that soon??? you think more positively than me. It's a shame because I seem to be one of the lucky ones - never had a problem with PocketMac. Do want Leopard though.....

I'm interested in Missing Sync and Leopard. I hope it will work fine, but I am worried about the additional wrinkle of using Entourage. It seems likely that the syncing of Entourage-->iCal-->BlackBerry might be more problematic. In addition, I wonder whether Spotlight searching with Entourage will work with Leopard.

FYI the latest Leopard update from MissingSync says that they are NOT, in fact, compatible. They say an update will be coming in the next 3 months

If memory serves, it took MONTHS for PocketMac to have Tiger compatibility when 10.4 was released.
I wouldn't plan on having Leopard compatibility on Day 1. It'll probably be a while.

Bummer I can understand it with the free PocketMac, but not so much with MS as it's a paid-for product with Apple having seeded developer builds of Leopard for some time now.

I've got Leopard coming (hopefully) tomorrow so will test it out in-the-flesh and let you all know the result.

Missing Sync is going to tick me off. Any program I have to pay for should be ready for a major OS release. The developer copies of Leopard have been out for months.

According to the website (Mark/Space Products - The Missing Sync on Leopard FAQ it may be up to 90 days from Leopard's official release for compatibility. I won't be pleased if it takes them this long.

It certainly seems likely it might be broken with Leopard - a post in their forum (admittedly for Palm) by a user that tried a recent Leopard build says that, as expected, it doesn't work...

Well, kind of strange. I've now installed Leopard and at first MS didn't work. I've selectively re-enabled the categories (and got back to where I started) and despite having to resolve a conflicts (that weren't really conflicts) it seems to be working. A test calendar event I created on the BB appears ok in Entourage calendar.

I have noticed that all my All Day events are duplicated, but this could be just down to the move to Leopard I suppose (I didn't think of looking at my calendar before trying Missing Sync).

Anyone else tried with Leopard yet?

PocketMac seems to work in Leopard with the exception of Tasks. It hangs when it syncs tasks. Disable it and it seems to work fine.

Anyone else notice this?

What steps did you take before sync with MS? Leopard Clean Install? Archive and INstall? Update?

Thanks!

Well, I upgraded to leopard and PocketMac wouldn't work.

Went down the MS route and uninstalled and then reinstalled it - seems to work fine now - strangely, so I think more testing is required.

I lied - it looks like it works, in fact it doesn't sync at all

Poo...

Nothing special - just did a straight upgrade after shoving in the Leopard DVD.

Note that Mark/Space pushed an update out to Missing Sync the other day, and whilst I understand it doesn't guarantee Leopard compatibility it makes some important steps. Still running ok here.

I can confirm that PocketMac works after a reinstall of PocketMac. I don't know if it helped or not but I reset my sync history before reinstalling PocketMac just to be sure it was cleared out.

You do have to turn off the Tasks sync though, but otherwise... it actually works better than it did before. Weird. maybe I was just lucky.

^ What problem are you having with Parallels? Mine works perfectly with Leopard.

I really wish PocketMac would release an update that would add an option for syncing notes with the new notes feature in Mail.app. I just started using the new Mail and it's very nice.

My Leopard and PM work just fine... My Leopard and Parallels works fine... My Parallels and Blackberry and Blackberry DM do not work fine... For me it defeats the purpose of getting Parallels and Windoze...

I agree apple85, RIM needs to put out a universal app. The windoz only BB DM is nothing but a crutch for RIM and it's customers.

I got it working completely (including tasks). Here's how I did it:

I first ran SyncClean in Support/PocketMacSyncManager/Additional Tools. You need to click both "Clean SyncServices Files" and "Clean PocketMac Files."

I did a uninstall using an app called AppDelete (Reggie Ashworth - AppDelete) to nuke it. This apparently cleans up everything on the Mac side.

I then used the DataPurge UI to nuke the tasks (after doing another backup of course) as it was hanging on tasks.

I then did a reinstall.

After doing all of that, It now works. I'm not sure why this works, but it does so that's all I care about.
