Unhappy 8330 ringer volume

Please Login to Remove!

Ok. I bought my 8330 a couple of days ago. I soon realized its volume on the ringer is less than expected. I have put it on high and done everything I can think of. I took back to Verizon and they said it sounds fine, nothing wrong with it. I have a buddy who has a BB curve through T Mobile and set mine up exactly as his and his is 3 times as loud. I have missed calls all day...any hope for this issue. I like to use a classic style ring tone...no music tones 4 me. Any help is appreciated!

Have you tried any aftermarket ringtones, Mine seems pretty loud, at least louder than my 8830.

No not yet. I need to figur out how to do it. I just want a phone I can check email on and answer the phone. Not to much to ask, but my old razor was louder than the BB. I do like it, but if I cant hear it to answer it...ugghhhh...

I would get a memory card to start, Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!, very cheap here.

And ringtones there are plenty here and free. CrackBerry.com – The #1 Site for BlackBerry Users & Abusers

With the memory card, you just email them to the BB and save them there. You can save them on the memory, but with them being free they can pile up pretty quick.

I have a Tmobile Curve and a VZW Curve, and it is true that the Tmobile curve ringer is much louder than VZW's. This is also true of the music playing as well. I do not know why this is so, but you can google mptrim to increase the volume of an mp3 ringtone.

Try Myxer - Download Ringtones and More it is totally free... sign up and browse for you a ringtone when you pick the one you want go in and customize the ring tone from there there is an option to make it louder... hope this helps...

Just be glad you don't have the 8830... Terrible ringer volume! I use mp3's from Amazon, and have no problems with volume on my new Curve. Seidio makes an aftermarket cover that has a hole in front of the speaker, which makes it sound much better than having sound bounce off the cover and then out the little holes in the top of the device. It's also rubberized if you have any trouble holding on to it.

I looked and didn't see a case for an 8330? Is it a case that replaces the existing one or goes over the top off it?

Thanks for the help

If it sounds distorted then you might have gotten it a little too loud... If you go to Myxertones.com It only list a couple blackberries for Verizon so I just pick the Pearl even though Im using the Curve... same difference when it comes to this.

Did you save them to your Media Card via Menu > Save or just set them to run from your downloaded link? The file format should be fine.

Default Edit the audio file yourself

I use Audacity to edit mp3s that I then use as ringtones. Just make sure to set the output volume to 1.0 and it'll be nice and loud. At least on my 8330 it is. Good luck.
