Changes:
V1.85 Beta 2008-05-16
* Fixed problem that kept "Activate on Startup" from working.
V1.84 Beta 2008-05-16
* Added a system check to keep the backlight from turning on when the device is locked
V1.83 Beta 2008-05-15
* Added SMS and Email monitoring - turns backlight on when new msg is received
* Changed the options screen layout
* Changed "On Remove Holster" to "Out of Holster" and changed the way it worked. Now,
with this option checked, the backlight will always be on when the blackberry is not
in it's holster. This never worked for me in previous versions so I changed it.
* Changed "On External Power" to "External Power/Charging" and changed the way it worked. Now,
with this option checked, the backlight will always be on when the blackberry is plugged in
and/or charging. This never worked for me in previous versions so I changed it.

I have a question on a couple settings with BBLight
Turn on:
Recieve SMS (I checked the box)
Recieve Email: (I checked the box)
At Time of the Day: (What is this? What does it do?)
From: 00.00 (What is this setting for?)
Duration (mins) 0 (What is this setting for?)

Enter this web address into your BlackBerry for wireless over-the-air downloads:
BlackBerryTools OTA
Or if you prefer to install via BlackBerry Desktop, download any one of the below:
BBLight: Allows you to set the screen backlight to stay on under certain conditions, i.e. charging, time of day, etc.
BBReply: Allows you to show a different reply to address on your emails. (This is now done in BIS and this app doesn't work on newer devices.)
BBToday: A Today screen with customizable fields for weather, stocks, email info, etc.
BBWeather: Allows you to quickly check current weather and forecasts for locations you specify.
BBCorrector: A spell checking application.
Edit 5/9/08 by John Clark: BB Weather had to be rewritten for new weather data. The new 0.76 version can be downloaded OTA by pointing your BB's browser to http://www.tateu.net/software/bb.php?f=BBWeather or the Desktop Manager version is attached below.
The weather portion of BBToday has been updated, as well, and the new version can be downloaded OTA by pointing your BB's browser to http://bbrtm.org/bbtoday/bbtoday.jad or a desktop manager install is attached below.
Edit 5/16/08 by John Clark: BBLight has received an update as well, thanks to Tateu on this forum. The new 1.85 version can be downloaded OTA by pointing your BB's browser to http://www.tateu.net/software/bb.php?f=bblight or the Desktop Manager version is attached below. Instructions and information on this new version can be found here. The old original 1.82 version can be found here.

New request for BBToday
I have a request for BBToday that I have not seen in any of the threads, or I might have overlooked it while reading through them. I travel quite a bit to a few specific locations, and would like to be able to show the weather forecast for all of the locations (4) at the same time in BBToday. I tried to set it up for four locations; but after closing and reopening BBToday, all it remembered was the last profile, for all of the entries I created. Is it possible to modify the weather portion to allow multiple locations to be displayed?
I really like this app on my 8330.

If you're not on a BES then you have to add the proper apn into the TCP settings and check the box in BBWeather that says "disable MDS proxy."
Go to Options >Advanced Options >TCP. For TMobile the apn should be:
apn:wap.voicestream.com
username
password
leave username and password blank.
This is all in this particular thread.

I just installed bbweather and get this message:
Error: No weather profiles specified
So, what do I do?

How do I get BB Weather to work on the 8100 / 8300 / 8800? - BlackBerryFAQ
This has changed a little.....now you can just enter a city name in the Location ID field, press the trackball, and click Location Lookup.

Jack, just hit the menu key and look through the menu items. You'll see "Add." I'm sure the answer was already in this thread, too.

There was what... 11 pages here... easy to miss and I looked at all 11 pages?
Anyway, I did what you said, hit the trackball:
How do I get BB Weather to work on the 8100 / 8300 / 8800?
From BlackBerryFAQ
Here is what you need to do in order to get BBWeather working on the 8100 / 8800: (this is only need at 1st start and will work fine after)
1. Click on BBWeather to open the application
2. You will get error that says: no weather profiles
3. Click on the trackball and select ok. do not click on the menu button
4. Click the trackball again and it will bring you to the menu
5. Select Options and add a weather profile [the location ID is your zip code]
6. If you are on BIS make sure you check the box to 'disable MDS
My menu says this:
Current Profiles:
a blue bar that says *Empty*
then
Current conditions Poll Interval (mins): 30
Forecast Poll Interval (mins): 120
[empty check box] Disable MDS Proxy: Cadetblue
High Temp Color: Darkred
Low Temp Color: Darkcyan
So now what???

Jack, highlight the blue bar. Hit the menu key and select "Add." Then type in your zip code in the location ID. Then type in your city name below that. Then save the settings. If you don't know the location id or zipcode, just type in the city and state and hit menu again and select Lookup Location ID.
Here's a little bit of advice. If you have an app that doesn't work...what is the harm in clicking through the menus to see what's what? it's pretty intuitive...it's not hard to figure out. The error that locks the device is gone now with the new version so there's not much you can screw up.
