DL'd and installed the new version. Appears to load maps quicker, and the traffic indicator is very nice. Next up, turn by turn directions and voice nav....

Yes. However, if you don't have an unlimited data plan, it could get expensive to use.

I updated the version 2.0.1 with this one (2.1.0).
The application is ok, it finds my freedom gps imemdiatly but it hs a problem.
During navigation it doesn't update my position, so I have to click 0 to update it. Version 2.0.1 always updates your position.
Do you have this problem?

Default Error messege

Hi guys,

I've downloaded the google maps file through this url: 2.03 which is a .jad file, but when i try to install it, I will get an error about xml on line xxx. In the past I used an .alx file, which seems to work. Anyone an idea why it isn't working ? What is the difference between alx/jad

STILL says to use 7 to pan left, AND use 7 to toggle traffic on/off.

Google, can you please fix that discrepancy?

The major features added to 2.2.0 have to do with Public Transit features (previously available in San Fran), such as finding last trip of the day, and view earlier or later schedule times. This can be accessed by selecting Directions from the menu, and switching to the Transit tab.

There have been updates in the search efficiency which equates to small gains in search speed, and the addition of star rating for businesses.

They don't conflict with each other so I use both. If I had to pick one, it would be google. WLS adds some nice things, traffic is more accurate, speaking a business name is cool, finding things like movies or restaurants (when you don't know the name) is easier.

I just installed googlemaps 2.2.0. I am very impressed. Does anyone know where this application stores the images it downloads? Is it in the browser cache?

Google Help Center indicates this:

"If you select "Menu," "Help," then "Erase All" from the application menu, you'll be able to clear your search history and any stored cookies."

However, I am not seeing any "Erase All" as indicated. I do see a "Reset Google Maps" which I have performed, but it didn't really release any memory on my curve.

Anyone else notice that the Google Maps icon is now dynamic when you hover over it (the compass needle moves)? This is the first 3rd party app that I've seen with an dynamic icon.

The compass doesn't spin on my curve. Maybe its theme dependent?
