Hey all,

I just bought a new Wifi Curve, in hopes of using it at home and when traveling at Hotels around the world to limit my data charges....

I can connect no problem to wifi networks, and I even turn off the Radio/GSM to make sure that Im ONLY using the Wifi.

My push Blackberry email works fine over Wifi, with the phone radio off, and I can brows the net with no issues as well.

Question is, if on Wifi, and connected to the BIS over Wifi (which I must be if I'm receiving and sending blackberry emails), am I being charged data usage??? Does the web browsing on the blackberry browser also go thorugh the BIS? If so, am I charged data for browsing over wifi even of the radio is powered off???

Any help on this question would be greatly appreciated.

From what I understand there is no data charges if you're using a WiFi connection. That is at least according to a couple of T-Mobile reps I know and people who don't pay for a data plan and yet still can pull data over the WiFi with their Curve.

If you want to be absolutely sure make a quick call to customer service to confirm. Having said that, if you're on a BIS plan, aren't you getting unlimited data anyhow?

we are in Canada man, unlimited data is around 100 bucks a month, and its still capped at like 200mb i think

ohh and no charge for wifi, just make sure you are using the wifi browser, you can check in options, when browsing.

there should be a regular data browser(through BIS) and a wifi browser, just make sure you are using thw wifi one, you can also kinda tell as the send/receive arrows blink like crazy on wifi
