Default Inertia When Scrolling?

Please Login to Remove!

I searched this and nothing came up which I thought was weird seeing as I've heard people talk about it before. But anyway -

You know how on the iPhone or iTouch when you flick your finger up or down, there is a sort of momentum that comes with the swipe? Is there a way to get that on my Storm? My experience is kind of bogged down by the sense of stiffness when navigating webpages and menu screens.

I know exactly what you mean!! Maybe this will be added into future OS releases, but I think for now we need to realize this is not an iPhone...

Ah yes, the "RubberBand Effect". I'm pretty sure Jobs' has copywrited that bit of technology, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Come on ... It is electronic. There cannot be inertia. Inertia requires mass. Remember? You could possible simulate this in software, but why bother? 73

Give it time. The was a program to do it on the LG phones, it will come for the BB Storm eventually.

I have installed the Wall Street Journal and it employs the "flick / rubberband" action -- so it seems to be program based?

I am absolutely positive it is software based. I am sure someone will design an application to bring this feature to the Storm.

I would love it for the address book. I have tons of entries. The Find feature helps alot but it would be cool to flick the menu like I do on my iTouch.

Obviously it's electronic, and the images aren't undergoing actual inertia, it's just a nickname for the effect. Web pages don't actually "scroll" either, it's a series of pixels that change position on the y-axis that gives the effect of a scrolling image.

Anyway... this seems like a very simple effect to incorporate, and if certain apps already have the functionality, then I would assume in the near future that the OS itself will have that option.
