Lightbulb BESuseradmin service

Please Login to Remove!

I have installed the BESuserADMIN service from file "brk-besuseradmin4.1.4.ZIP" on a different PC than the BES 4.1.4.12 (for Exchange) is installed. The BES installation was performed on a domain user name domain1\besuser and the BESuserAdmin installation on a domain user name domain1\userA. The MAPI profile is BESMAPI. I cant get them to work. There are two errors in the event viewer
- MAPILogonEx() failed (80040111) for profile: BESMAPI
- Failed to initialize MAPI session.

I have also mate the registry tweaks for changing the Administrator name of the service, which was described in the PDF.
Do you have any clue how to solve it? Without the besuseradmin service, I cant start the Client...

What configuration will work? I dont want to install it on the BES, because Im writing a PHP script on the other PC, where I finaly got the phpstats to work.

THX 4 every help!

I guess the problem will be with the service you've installed the BESUADM. I've installed it with the BES service account and it was no problem to get it working. Might try that...
Also does the domain1\userA have the correct rights for BES service mailbox account - domain1\besuser ?

* BES server hostname: BBserver
* Second server which should provide the besuseradmin functions: BESTES
* They are in the same domain and IP subnet as well.

Right now I finished a clean installation. There were two MAPI profiles - BackBerryManager and BlackBerryServer. I logged on to the machine which doesnt have the BES installed (hostname - "BESTEST") with credentials domain1\besuser. Typed at cmd following >>

- "besuseradminservice -install exchange".
- Do you want the service run automatically on startup? ... N
- The current user is domain1\besuser , Do you wish to continue? ... Y
- Enter the password for this account: <entered domain pass for "besuser">
- Please enter the DBase server Name: <MSSQL is on the same server as BES4.1, so i typed the hostname of the BES - "BBserver">
- Please enter the DBase Name: BESMgmt
- Would you like to use SQL Auth? ... N <I checked the BES conf, and there is marked just Windows authentification (trusted)>
- Enter the client pass besuseradminclients will use to connect to service: <i put there the same pass as the domain1\besuser has>
- Retype: <retyped>
- Restrict hosts allowed to run besuseradm. : <left blank>
- Enter name of MAPI profile to connect to besadmin mbox: ... BlackBerryServer
- Do U wanto restrict access to service? ... N

...

'BB user administration service' installed.

After Starting it, followinf is saved in the LOG file:

[30000] ... Init: "MAPIProfile" (BlackBerryServer) found in registry.
[30000] ... Attempting MAPILogon (BlackBerryServer) ....
[10000] ... MAPILogonEx() failed (80040111) for profile: BlackBerryServer
[10000] ... Init: Failed to initialize MAPI session.

What should I doooo?:(

Does this MAPI Profile exist on the server running the BESUserAdminService?

What do you mean by that? As you can see, the BesUserAdminService has found the registry MAPI value BlackBerryServer > > > (..[30000] ... Init: "MAPIProfile" (BlackBerryServer) found in registry...)

I have just copyied and overwritten the mapi32.dll from BESTES..windows\system32 with the one from BBserver.. windows\system32. After I have veryfied, that the BlackBerryServer MAPI string is in BESTEST register at HKCU\..\Admin available.

Do you mean anything else?

Sorry, I honestly didn't read that; I apologize for the miss there.

What MAPI components do you have installed on BESTEST?

There is no need to copy mapi32.dll from other servers as long as you have the proper software installed on the server.

Sorry, typing too fast. I remember, that i had to run the BESProfile.exe file on the server where i've installed the BBUADM service ... with settings:
BESProfile.exe -m -p BlackBerryServer

Dunno if that help :-/

Edit: And there i've found that it's using incorrect credentials.
Edit: You can find this file in the folder where BES is installed

so U mean, that I have simply to copy just the besprofile.exe file somwhere to BESTEST server and run e.g. "besprofile.exe -m -p BlackBerryServer" and thats it?

We found out, the problem was the MAPI Profile. I spoke with RIM Support and they mentioned that the installation of BESUserAdminService might change it. So DVX ran the BESProfile.exe - and the Exchange server field was blank.
That was the root cause why it couldn't initialize the MAPI connection to the service mailbox.

With graceful help from Dookie, I got it working. It was a mess to get to work. We thing, that you should at first run the file besprofile.exe -m -p BlackBerryServer remotely via Start-Run. Afterwards you should install BESuseradmin first.
