I'm hoping someone else has gone through this, This is getting close to roll to production and I'm having problems with the self signed cert created during the installation. Our security group has created a CA SSL cert for me and I've had our Netweb group try and import the cert per the installation guide and it doesn't seem to pick up the new cert? It shows the keystore has it?

My goal is I don't want users to have click through the untrusted certification prompts and just get to the login page, possible??

I believe the cert is Unix based and has a .cer extension.

Thanks guys

I don't think anyone knows much about Web Desktop Manager...at least not yet. I've given up on using it.

Default Still trying to get it to work

Still working on resolving the issue above....the default SQL port of 1433 comes up during installation....which is what we use for the actual BES production box. Any other ideas as to why this is not functioning?? Anyone??

i tried this way back when. i worked with rim and the only way they could get it to not pop up was to push the msi remotely. its rather annoying and the error is somewhat more confusing in ie7 too.

Do you mean push the actual msi to the client side so the dreaded http 500 error is not displayed when trying to navigate to the box where Web Desktop Manager is installed?

I already looked into that...and what I found is that there is no CAB file in that particular location to extract the msi from. The instructions are wrong.

Ok, mine is working again, i've figured out by myself. RIM couldn't find the cause.

So, the problem is that the tool is not able to use anything else in the LDAP Search base than DC=domain,DC=com . If your LDAP is searching on something else - for example o=domain.com , all test will say that it is ok (you are able to install) but it won't work - when you will try to login, it will just sits there until timeout when it will say to you: "Your username, password or domain are incorrect". If you provide wrong pwd or username or domain it will be immediately resolved as wrong.

So the whole issue is the LDAP search base. But you are not completely screwed, just use your AD instead.

Default Log Error..

I consistently get the error below in the logs:

(04/25 09:47:49:364):{main} [org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedC onnectionPool] [WARN] Throwable while attempting to get a new connection: null
org.jboss.resource.JBossResourceException: Could not create connection; - nested throwable: (com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed. java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect)

I am using the standard account we use for BES which has privileges on the SQL box.....so I'm not sure what's going on.

Default Finally working

Ok....this is finally working....Issue.....wrong SQL port number. Make sure you go into SQL and check the port number....my BES had 1433 listed when in fact it was a different port. Don't rely on your BES server to provide the port!

I am still having problems logging in, repeated "Incorrect UNAME/PW" The above suggestion (thx bpvictor) of using Outlook Express to do an LDAP lookup seems too involving for such a simple issue. I have not tried that yet.

Can you explain the convention used for login a little more clearly? You said using anything else other than DC=domain,DC=com would produce a failed login. In a Lotus environment, it's usually CN=Full Name/O=Domain. Will the WDM take anything else for a login? I'm looking for an example to be provided here.

Also, can you please explain what you mean by "the whole issue is the LDAP search base" What do you mean by "use your AD instead"?

Thanks! I just wanna get this login to work so we can start using this!!

Can ANYONE shed some more light on this LDAP issue for Lotus Notes?? This post has gone back and forth on 3 separate issues, OTHER THAN the LDAP login.... sheesh!

Anyone?

Again, I'm asking anyone who is able to stay on topic to PLEASE address the LDAP login problem.

I have no other problems with LDAP lookups in our Domino environment. NONE. Why should Web Desktop Manager be any different? Why is the LDAP so difficult to pass to WDM?

This topic has been butchered by others hijacking the original topic... Grrr

LDAP LDAP config... anyone?
