Default OS Wireless Upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

So we are starting to Deploy some Bold's in our environment and I had a question about the Wireless Upgrade Option. Is this something we have to setup on the BES or does it go through RIM? Also, if it goes through RIM is it working yet? Thanks.

Is that option "OS wireless update" only available for the Bold?

Wirelessly posted (Curve 8310)

I see it on my Curve, OS 4.5.0.102 but I can't remember if it was on the other 4.5 versions

I am not sure. I think it is available for anyone with version 4.5 or higher

I tried it on my Bold (I am on BIS) -- I think the wireless upgrade capability is a new 4.5 or 4.6 feature. Since it displays on my BB which is not on BES I'm guessing (perhaps incorrectly) that it's a global new OS feature and the upgrade comes via RIM.

The wireless update is for OS v4.5+ and from my understanding is deployed from the BES. At least I know if there is an OS issue on a BB with 4.5 it can be pushed from the BES, I do not know about devices that are not setup on a BES.

just playing with it. Will let you know. But from what I've read, it wouldn't be working.

Updated: I cannot set it to wireless upgrade :-/ Don't know what i'm doing wrong.
Correct me if i'm wrong:
1. you need 4.5/4.6 FW enabled device
2. BES 4.1.6
3. Install the new FW on the BES
4. Create a SW config
5. Apply??!
