Windows Live Messenger won't receive messages?

Hi, I have a blackberry curve from AT&T that's about a year old. The Windows Live Messenger application always worked fine for me, until it had an update about a few weeks ago. Then my phone wouldn't let me add any new contacts (to the phone book) without freezing. I found online that this was due to the Windows Live Messenger update, and to fix it I could uninstall the application. I did this, and adding contacts worked fine again. Eventually, I needed the Windows Live Messenger application back, so I reinstalled it, but now I can't receive messages from my contacts. I can log on and see who's online normally, and I can send messages (and my contacts receive them) fine. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling it. Even after I updated the operating system yesterday, I still can't receive any messages. Any idea how I can fix this? Thank you.

Interaction from other Apps? You can try deleting all third party apps and see if that helps. Then add back one at a time and test.

I deleted every app on my phone (except for blackberry messenger) and restarted it. I uninstalled/reinstalled Windows Live Messenger. I'm still not receiving any messages.

You should downgrade msn messenger or delete that app.

Try to find a link to an earlier version. Reloading your OS will replace your current version with 2.5.88 I think. What version are you using now? If it is 3.x or something, delete the app.

Yeah, I have version 3.0.0.19 now, but I can't find any downloads for earlier versions online. Should I just reinstall the OS?

Is that the only issue you are having? Any other Apps not working? Are you receiving emails ok? Can you use BBM?

All of my other apps work fine. I'm not having any other problems with the phone. I don't use e-mail, but BBM works fine.

As suggested, reloading the OS should revert back to the older version of the Live Messanger. You may have to try another carriers load if that does not load an older version. Look in the FAQ section at the top for info on reloading OS. You can also look in the 9700 section for other OS.

Okay, thanks. I was looking through the FAQ and I can't really find how to reinstall the OS? It says how to update it (but it won't let me update it again), and it doesn't say how to downgrade it.

Thank you, but the second and third links don't say anything for me? The first one, I would have to completely wipe all the information off my phone? I don't know how to back anything up. Ugh, this is becoming way more trouble than I thought; maybe I should just wait for the MSN App to have another update.
