Maybe now that the Search button above is highlighted in a different color we will have more people notice it and use it.

I'm for the idea of large neon arrows, and maybe a marching band to surround it and play to draw attention to it.

Hmm...a marching band, pointy arrows, and 48 font...might work...

Unlock my BB Model XXXX.....
Can my 7100 work on Cingular....
Where can I get a new theme for my 7520....
Add your own question that has been answered before.
Thats my sarcasm for the week.....god I feel better now

you could light it up with a spotlight and paint it pink with a big "click here sign" above it and people would still ignore it.
its never been that users couldent find it. the are normally to lazy to click it.

Guys. Thats really enough of the whole search issue.
You guys seem to forget that you once were newbies as well, and there really is no need to get upset at new users who dont realize there is a search feature..
i did this to make it a little more obvious, not to start a competition on who can make the funniest crack.
If it werent for the traffic and constant flow of new users.. there would be no community, there would be no BlackBerryForums.com, so eventhough it might get annoying seeing those thread titles.. just ignore them. Its better to keep that person around, as they may become useful for some purpose down the road.. then scare them away right away.

I agree Guess. All I see after new members post is "use the search feature." Most new members don't know the search feature exists and I've seen a lot of new members not post anymore after someone suggests for them to search (because they probably felt like they didn't get an answer to their question). I honestly try to help new members of this board and another board I'm on and people appreciate the help. I hope this doesn't upset anybody but I'm just getting tired of seeing that instead of helping members.

And you, too, will grow weary of answering the same questions OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
The discussion comes up all the time. New members (including you) don't like to be asked to search. So they gripe. And it dies down. And then it heats up.
People don't want to search. It's not whether they are a newbie or not - they come in, ask a question, want an answer NOW and then move on.
Just a fact of Internet Forums.
It really doesn't matter what color (or colour) the search button is. It is still invisible to most people.

I agree. A lot of times when I come here and read a thread from a new member, there are only 2 posts. One from the newbie asking what may seem like a dumb question to those of us who have been using BlackBerry for years, and one from a long time member replying "search for...". I admit, I have been using a BlackBerry off and on for 4 years and I am still learning things I never knew about it. I would be scared too if someone answered my question with "search for..." because, to me, that's not answering my question or offering the help I need to understand how my BB works.
I have seen people who get their first BB and only months later are able to help othes. I have a friend who has only been using a BlackBerry for 2 months and now he's helping other BB newbies. This is because people helped him understand how his BB works.
I hope I don't offend anybody by venting like this but I just wanted to get this off my chest.

No I do not get tired of answering the same thing over and over if it helps. And I do search (without anyone asking) if I want to find something. I was just saying how I felt about the situation.
