Default Redundancy/Failover of BES 3.6 for Exchange

Hi All,

Quick question as best way to have a standby server for Blackberry Server 3.6 for Exchange.

My understanding is that you can ghost a live server, restore it at a DR site but with all the Blackberry services stopped.

The question is, how do we keep this up-to-date? Am I wrong in thinking that if you replicate the SQL database, that would do the trick?

Any help would be much appreciated!

That\'s ok, but you don\'t need a ghost copy, you could just have another server built using the same BES SRP and auth with the services disabled as you mentioned. The SQL database stores the dynamic information that is likely to change.

Clustering the SQL database works a treat.

Do NOT stand up both servers at the same time. You will lose your SRP connection and be unable to communicate with your devices. Disable all services on the backup server and use your monitoring software (or manual), to disable services on the primary server and enable them on the backup to bring the backup online. Once your SRP connection is lost because you've brought up 2 servers with the same keys, it will require a call to RIM to get them re-activated.
