Default Hourglassing

Please Login to Remove!

What does it meaning when I am in an application and after a few minutes the phone will hour glass and the application tends to freeze till it stops hourglassing and then the application just stops.
I have a 8310 on the .110 software. Normally free memory sits at 19.7 meg. After this application hourglasses its much less.
I did a search for hourglass and all I could relate hourglass to is when upgrading the OS and that is not the case here.
Thanks.

Which application is doing this?

Sometimes I get the hourglass, while the BlackBerry browser is loading and large page.

I get the hourglass with the browser too sometimes.
Anyway, I been testing a media player that plays radio stations. The developer is making the software for Blackberry use. They have a player for other Java based phones but that software don't play very well on blackberry except for the RTSP feeds.
I just wanted to make sure I not going to corrupt something on my phone because of this.

Sounds like the program is causing the hour glass.

My browser does that sometimes, considerably less with 4.5 though.

Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile BB 8320 OS 4.5.0.81)

My browser does that when I click on a link that points to a BlackBerry forums (non WAP) site.

I guess hourglassing basically means on a Blackberry that whatever it's doing is to much for the CPU and/or Memory to handle. I can't wait till I can do an phone upgrade later this year. I think Bold has me sold twice the CPU speed and alot more memory than my curve.

If the hourglass comes frequently, that is an issue with the OS...if a new OS doesn't fix it then, it's a hardware problem. Try a battery pull whenever you have such issues. Sometimes it takes more than 1 battery pull to fix an issue.
