Hmm - let's see what others say, but I don't recall ever seeing a post about a blown speaker on a 7520.

It's not exactly the same but I had a 7100t that had a blown speaker and I had to get a warranty replacement.

Wirelessly posted (VZW 7250/Sprint 4.1: BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I never once had a complaint about the suretype on my 7100i and have you ever even picked one up? The build quality IMO is better than the any other 7100 series BB.

I have tried many of the Blackberrys and have found the 7520 speaker to be quite good and I use it all the time. I know it is better than the recent 7130e that I just got rid of and as far as build quality, have still not found anything more robust as the older Blackberrys.

All the new BB need to come with a tube of Displex!

i may give the suretype a try. i want something new, and since they supposedly arent releasing the 8700 series on i-den i guess the 7100 is the only choice. is suretype really as intuitive as a regular keyboared? how does it work?

The device has an onboard list of words in it. As you type, it guess what you are typing. It is surposed to learn your words the more you use it. I was surprised how much better it worked after just a few days. It worked best for me if I did not look at what it was doing and just typed!
