Default 8520 Updating Problem :(

Please Login to Remove!

I updated my boyfriends software on his phone as when it connected to my laptop it came up as new software available. Clicked on Yes and it updated no problem. Nothing was disconnected etc. Now the phone loads up but freezes on application permissions at start up and because of this i now cant connect the phone to the laptop as its not finished start up..

Iv tried loads of things including applaucher etc with the old os but because the phone cant connect i cant wipe the phone of the application. :/ Help please i feel so like crap :/.

Have you tried a battery pull?

This doesn't help much, but always remember, if the device isn't broken, there is no need to fix it.

What OS version did you upgrade to? If 4.6 or newer, see if you can boot up in safe mode.

See KB17877-How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode.

I'm not sure what to advise at that point, assuming you are able to boot in safe mode. But at least you can experiment. I'm thinking maybe try a security wipe and delete all third-party apps, if you can even do that in safe mode.

Last resort, see What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ and wipe the device and reinstall the OS. And http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/I...Berry_Nuked%3F may also be of help as far as the steps to connect to a blackberry that is not completing boot up.

I tried this and it gets to the point were it finds the device but isn't able to connect to it, keep saying it isnt connected but yet its found it for me to click next? the device wallpaper is still flashing in the background just the application permissions have frozen on the screen... :/ the only button that shows any interested of working is alt button. xx

..... Also, if the device is using a microSD media card, did you try removing it?

Deleted the applications that were asking for permissions and done the start up programmes which werent allowing the USB to connect my phone. I pulled the battery out and did a hard reset after that and it worked fine...

Tried this on my phone however ~(same model 8520 just in white)~, the upgrade went great just now i dont get any signal? but i have excellent signal coverage in my area...

Ahhh. Ok. That was the smarter approach.

On the new problem, have you tried turning the radio off, then back on after a few seconds? Also, a hard reset with the battery out for a good minute or two?

The connection to the mobile network.... Try disabling/turning off, then count to five, and enable it again.
