Unhappy SOS: Cingular 8800 will not come on after battery pull!!!

Please Login to Remove!

My 8800 was not getting all the emails and they were bouncing back...so I decided to do a battery pull to see if that would help...I had about 75% of battery life still remaining...pull the battery out for ~30 seconds, put it back and all I get is a red blinking light where the service indicator is...and nothing else...it won't power on; I left it on the charger for a good 5 mins, then an hour, but its still the same..and let's just say its been ages since my last backup

can anyone help!?!?!?! CS was useless...all they can do is send me a warranty replacement but I need to get my contacts and notes out of there....they are my lifeline....attaching via USB, the device manager recognizes it one minute, then makes the default noise as if the BB has been disconnected; it keeps doing that but nothing comes on the screen....

I would sincerely appreciate any help/suggestions.

TIA

Kaz.

Did you load any other applications? I would see if you can try another battery. If that doesn't work then you may be out of luck. You may have to reload the OS. If that's what's needed then your data is lost.

thanks for your reply...no, no new apps loaded in the last 30 days...only had telenav, yahoo and google talk on there...it was my work BB...plain no frills email only device....It was fine too...just wasn't getting the emails in the AM, so decided to do a pull...nothing else that I can think of that I did to it....it was basically pampered.... I tried my VZW 8830's battery in there, that's a no go...and the local store is out of stock of 8800 batteries...Murphy's law....

I can't even load any OS coz the PC won't mantain a connection with it...it's connecting, disconnecting and then the same thing over and over again....I guess I will have to take the warranty replacement...

You may have to reload the OS:

Are you on a BES through work? If so, you may get most of your data back when you reactivate on the BES.

oh yes..I remember doing this with my old 7250....so there is no way I can force my way into the BB's files and extract my contacts at least?

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Nope. Sorry. Are you on a BES? You'll get them back, if you are.
