Default Curve 8900 browser question

Please Login to Remove!

I am a long time Pearl user, but want to make the jump to a next generation BlackBerry. The Bold is too big for my liking, so I'll wait on the Curve 8900.

I did play with the Pearl Flip 8220. Nice phone, but the browser is very cumbersome to use. The column view on the browser absolutely stinks because you still have to scroll side to side when viewing a web page. I don't have to do that on my Pearl 8110, just up and down scrolling. I wonder if it was designed that way or it is a fault? And I hate the page view where you have to zoom in and out. Anyway, does the Curve 8900 have "true" column view where you don't have to scroll side to side, just up and down scrolling?

In column view, a few pages require horizontal scrolling but most don't. This is the first BB which has not sent me scurrying to find an alternative browser such as Opera Mini. With greater clarity and extra screen width over the Flip, you should find browsing a satisfying experience - and over WiFi, quick, too.

I just switched to the 8900 from the older curve. I was wondering if there is a setting for column view, because in the default setting there are a lot of web sites that require horizontal scrolling which is very inconvinient. also the full html display makes it painfully slow to load. If there are no settings to change this 2 things I'm considering switching back to the older curve.

Can the default view be set to column view? That is my preference so I do have to do any side to side scrolling when viewing a web page.

In the browser go to options/general options/default view and choose column.
