Default Will the 9700 do this - email help?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys

I am looking to get a new phone and I am hoping that the 9700 will do the job.

Please could you let me know if it will be capable in some way/shape/form (maybe with software) of doing the following: -

> Having my hotmail through my Blackberry and syncing with hotmail online (if i delete something)?
> Having my ISP mail (Pipex) through my blackberry and also syncing with pipex net mail online?
> Is there any way (maybe using software) of using the folders I have in outlook on my 9700?
> I use Outlook at home and wonder if there is any way of syncing my calendar/contacts without connecting via cable?

Many Thanks

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

I believe you can do all of that with a hosted account. I don't think itl work both ways with a regular BIS account

  1. You can get Hotmail on your phone, but I don't believe you will be able to keep it in sync.
  2. You can set up something called a split-domain via a hosted BES account to have your Pipex e-mail in full wireless sync between your phone and Outlook and the web (via Outlook web access).
  3. With a hosted BES account, you will also have access to all of your Outlook folders on the BlackBerry.
  4. Also with a hosted BES account, you will have full wireless sync between calendar, address book, notes, and tasks.

For example, check out http://www.exchangemymail.com/.

For example, check out Exchange Hosting | Exchange My Mail: Premium Hosted Exchange 2007.
You can use outlook hotmail connector pull your hotmail down to outlook and sync it like that. Keep in mind there is not full ota offered via bis(read sync).

If you get a hosted bes account it will dump everything into you a single mailbox.

This used to be true, with the exception of a global BES policy that would allow separate mailboxes for all users. Now, with the 9700 running a newer version of OS 5, you can select what e-mail gets put together and what e-mail gets separate boxes right from the phone. I assume other devices running newer versions of OS 5 can also do this.

Hi Guys

thanks for all the responses.

If I use the Outlook connector, how would I sync with my 9700 - would I still need a hosted BES account?
Also, just using the outlook connector - does this also sync folders (let me use outlook to file emails in hotmail folders)?

Many Thanks

Hotmail works on my 9700 fine. Only the inbox and sending mail.
You can sync your calendar and contacts with Outlook using Desktop manager that is provided with the phone.
