Default RIM Network Outage - North America

Please Login to Remove!

Just got off the phone with T-Mobile and they confirmed that there is a nationwide BlackBerry outage that is affecting all carriers in the US and possibly throughout North America. I'm showing GPRS on all of my devices, but some are not working. We can't even send PIN messages.

Not sure if it's affecting anyone else, but just wanted to pass this on. Anyone else have any news on it?

I also just called T-Mobile. I didn't see your post. They didn't have an ETA on getting things back up and running. It also affects internet access. You can't even Browse the internet from the BB.

Angry T-Mobile is Toast but they aren't talking.

I went down yesterday around 1500 EDT. I get the same thing: GPRS is lit up, in caps, plenty of bars, no service. Call T-Mobile and they say there is maintenence going on since 0000 hours EDT last night (which is complete horse$H!t). Anyone hear the actual reason for the outage?

I'm in NYC, and I also tried it at home in NJ and had no luck.

I can confirm that we have no Blackberry data service on any carrier in Long Island.
We use Cingular, Verizon, T-Mobile and Nextel.

GPRS devices still have GPRS in caps, and voice service works fine.
Nextel and Verizon devices are also OK for voice.

Haven't gotten any real confirmation of the RIM network outage from RIM directly... but I assume this is the case.

I was able to wirelessly sync my contacts with Entourage at about 8:30am today, then everything died.

GPRS is still on. Cingular blames it on RIM.

I'm in NYC and seeing the same thing. We have Nextel and TMobile service w/ BES 4.0. Nextel is working intermittently, TMobile not at all.

Man am I glad I found this thread (and board). I was pulling my hair out wondering what was going on - TMobile didn't tell me anything when I called.

Outage goes all the way down here in Central Florida. This is not good.

Just called T-Mobile they confirmed a large network outage on T-Mobile, and it will take up to 2 hours to restore connection. They applogized for any inconvience.

Go figure a minute after I called them my Blackberry 7230 did that nice little vibrate and the message alert lit up, and GPRS became fully active again. Thanks for restoring within 2 hours T-Mobile!

Default RIM Outage/ TMO internet outage

I spent 1/2 hour on the phone getting the run-around this morning abt 9:00am/e
I sent a PIN at 830e no problem.
TMO has a network issue unrelated to RIM. Can't access internet with device.
Does anybody have a way of fast tracking to BlackBerry help when calling TMO?
Talking to the "plain ole CS reps" is one BIG waste of time...
A ticket has been put in...So they say

Just got a flurry of emails. Was able to send both with BES and BIS, but the latency is pretty bad. It better than it was an hour ago. The Blackberry browser still dosen't work ("unable to contact MDS") but the Cingular browser does.

I talked to Scott at link2exchange, and he's going to try to get an ETA from RIM.

RIM stated to me just minutes ago that there was no ETA on a resolution. They are calling it a 'temporary interruption in service'. Sporadic or no emails being delivered to users here.

I have a 7230 in the DC area and the service went down for me about 9am, and has been up intermittently for the last half hour. Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon.
