Default I've been looking for hours, and I'm just tired of it.

I didn't know getting my blackberry set up would suck this much.

Alright, so I'll start here: My blackberry desktop manager says my phone is not connected to my computer and it won't let me do anything, but I can access the internet on my blackberry. wat.
I just want to get my email set up and all that. Nothing crazy.

Sounds like two issues.

1 - Setting up email. Do you have a blackberry data plan? Not an ordinary mobile data plan, but a blackberry-specific data plan? You need that. If you got it, the rest is easy. You can add email addresses directly from the device, or do it through the blackberry internet service web portal provided by your carrier. You do not use desktop manager to do this.

2 - Connecting to the computer. If you are using a hub, USB port on a monitor or keyboard, stop. Use a USB port on the computer. If you are using a desktop, try a port on the back of the box. Answer that issue before we look at other things.

Okay, I read that somewhere. I have the virgin mobile beyondtalk plan and all the blackberry stuff is included in the price, does that mean I have a blackberry-specific data plan?

I don't know the plans. Does your blackberry internet browser work? Can you send yourself a PIN message from the messages app? (Look at options > status to find your device's PIN number. You send PIN messages to the user's device PIN number.)

My internet browser works, but I couldn't send a message to my PIN

I'm thinking you don't have the blackberry plan, or it hasn't beeb pushed to your device.

Go ahead and try the following: Find the manage email app, or it may be called setup internet email, but something along those lines. Open it and follow the directions. If all you are presented with is one option, to set up a work email (or something like that), then you do not have a blackberry data plan active on the device ... Could be you have it in this instance, but the service haven't been pushed to the device ... But let's answer one question at a time.

See if you can setup internet email on the device.

Yeah, it only has one option which is the enterprise server thing. But Virgin Mobile says I have unlimited data.

I called virgin mobile and they found some bizarre problem with my email setup, so I got it fixed. Thank you for your help, though. :]
