Default Playbook Tethering issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have a strange issue with tethering. My wife and I both have tmobile 9810. I used to be able to tether my 9810 to my playbook and access the internet ( facebook, twitter, you tube etc.. ). I used JLcommander to wipe my phone the other day and reload the OS and since I have done this, i get a tmobile hotspot ad from tmobile saying to tether i need to have the hot spot plan. (14.99 monthly ). ok, so i disconnect my 9810 from the playbook and pair my wife's 9810 and tether no problem! I looked at all the settings and cannot figure it out. Can anyone help me with this issue?

You may have to wait for someone familiar with T-Mobile plans who can tell you if there have been any changes you may have triggered.

My question, is why are you using tethering and not the Bridge?

I just turned off Wi-Fi on my PlayBook and used the RIM PlayBook Twitter and Facebook applications via the Bridge with my 9810. So I would say yes.

Get Bluetooth Tether Bridge for BlackBerry from Tetherbridge for $29. Works like a champ. No tether plan needed.

Unlike the native bluetooth DUN service of the BlackBerry, Bluetooth Tether Bridge for BlackBerry does not require tether support (IP Modem support in a more technical term) from the cellular carrier network. Such tether support from the carriers usually requires an expensive monthly tether fee for many. Bluetooth Tether Bridge for BlackBerry emulates a 2G/3G/4G cellular network with tether support on your BlackBerry to your client device by using the existing data service of your BlackBerry. As such, Bluetooth Tether Bridge can imply significant savings for many.

Unlike the BlackBerry Bridge app from RIM, Bluetooth Tether Bridge for BlackBerry also supports Playbook apps requiring direct TCP/IP for Internet access instead of just http, and therefore supports many more Playbook apps than the BlackBerry Bridge from RIM.
