Default Call quality on 3G...

Please Login to Remove!

Is it just me or does 3G call quality seem poor?

I have AT&T and I use a Plantronics 520 BT headset and in 3G I'm dropping calls and getting lots of static.

On EDGE, my calls are crystal and only drop when signal drops to 1 bar or less.

I'm running with the 190 OS...

It must be a network problem, I'm with Rogers with 190 OS and I get great RF on 3G, actually the 3G is the only reason why I'm not trading this thing for the 8900 Curve.

Unfortunately, I have had the displeasure of running with T-Mobile for a year and 3 months (roughly).

I have decided that I am switching to AT&T for the following reasons:

1) Great 3G Network (or so I have heard)

2) Stopping drop calls when I am sitting in my office (I have tested AT&T and at least AT&T's EDGE network works great in my office (which happens to be an interior office of a rather dated building)

3) Better Coverage in the state where I live (Texas...most areas work great with AT&T, but if your on T-Mobile and you stray 1 mile from the main Highways....your S.O.L.)

4) I really, really, really want a BlackBerry Bold...I kind of started a trend at my work place with 8300 series (8310s, 8320s, and 8330s...but the Curve is just not doing it for me any more).

I will let folks know my general experience with the phone after I go out and get my services switched to AT&T this weekend.

-Cheers-

Same, I have been very happy with 3G coverage here in the Bay Area. Also, as far as how the hardware handles 3G versus Wi-Fi during a browsing experience - I think it handles 3G much better. I have been fairly disappointed with my Wi-Fi experience while browsing.

i have perceived no change after moving up to 9000 bold from 8820. i didn't (and don't) have dropped calls, and i can't tell if there is any difference in quality of calls. they sound same with bold as they did with 8820 from my perspective

The call quality on the Bold is superior to any other cell phone I've used period. However, I couldn't tell you if there is a difference in quality between EDGE or 3G in my area.
