I am incredibly moved to say the blackberry is a sweet device. After a year I finally got around to adding my regular home email account. I had already looked up the server addresses (which are different when acessing via another ISP) and I was ready. But what do I find: All I have to do is enter my email address and password and the computers figure the rest out....in no more than 30 seconds, if that. And I was able to add free Yahoo email account, too. All in less than a minute. Sweet!

There's a difference between being so far gone that there is no return, and then there is being so far gone and loving it!!!!!!

I'm about 10 steps beyond too far gone. I have missed work because my BB was dead, and walked to work when I couldn't find my keys.

Is that bad?

Yes, it is true. And I'm corrupting my office mates. Long story, but employer will not provide BB's to us underlings, so I got my own...personal, not corporate. So far 3 others in office have followed.

(Pushed email was the selling point. All I did was have them hold the handset in the holster and send an email to me, then pull the handset out of the holster when they hear the alert, which is only mere seconds later, and see the email open on the handset before their eyes. As I say, Sweet!!!)

It's addictive now... But wait until we finally get a media player up in our machines. You'll never have to get off your toilet ever again!

I've had free Yahoo account for long time, maybe 7 or 8 years. I don't have the premium Yahoo POP3 account, which is what I assume you are refering to. That is why I was doubly surprised I was able to add it.

I got a 8700g to replace by 7100t (it broke), and BB's still continue to amaze me. I had backed up my 7100, and restored the files to the new 8700, and went to the T-Moble web site and switched my BIS to the new handheld, and I'm back running with barely a hiccup. I don't have the words to describe how pleasurable this system is to use. I go back to BPC (before PC's)....And the 8700! Wow.

One difficulty I've run into is some of the ring tones are too loud, even when set to low. I've searched and found discussions of the bug involving the last speaker phone volume setting. I haven't figured out yet whether or not the bug was in an earlier version than what I have now. I tried using the speaker phone and setting the volume low, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
