Default Standard Memory/File Free/File Total

Please Login to Remove!

So after searching, it looks like my 8830 is supposed to have 64MB, correct? If I go to Options>Status, this is what it shows:

File Free: 18376379 Bytes
File Total: 47841280 Bytes

Doesn't that show I only have 48MB total memory? Also, is there any app or option already on the BB that will show me what is using the memory and how much, similar to the Processes tab in Windows Task Manager?

You do have 64mb total. You have a reserve setting in your pictures option, and varios OS options reserve additional.

hmm,... in your Options > Advanced > Applications you can look at the app sizes.

There is no task manager such as in Windows, but Alt + Escape will show you the applications running in the background.

At Options > Status > Menu > Database sizes, you can view more info, which might give you a clue also.

Did you set your Media > Options to a lower reserved picture limit already?

Yep, saw the database sizes. I have 18MB free, so it's really just curiosity, not concern.

My media storage reserve was already set to 12MB and my only choices are 12 and 15.

My VZW 8830 only shows 48k free as well...Maybe has something to do with the CDMA software talking up more room...
