Talking Memory stick

Please Login to Remove!

Ok so I've been putting videos on my BB lately. And when I delete 'em ,the amount of memory it took up, doesn't return. What can I do?

Have you tried removing the battery to reboot the device and see what it says after that?

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

You also may need to wait a moment for everything on your device card to register accurately. It is NOT an immediate process.

Two things...

1.I deleted the videos yesterday and it still hasn't restored the amount of memory the video took

2. I've noticed my when i restart my BB the security tests take much longer than they did when i had 4.2.. Is there a particular reason for that? Or thats just how it is?

Where are you looking for the free memory? If you're looking in Options >Status you won't see it there. That's device memory. You have to look at media card memory in Options >Media Card.

Thats where I'm looking, I'm looking at the media card memory. And i should have much more than I have now. Before i deleted the two videos i had 7.6MB, and after the deletion of both videos i still have only 7.6MB.

If you plug it into the computer and read it how much does it say? I'm not sure how accurate that is in the Media Card options, anyway.

Then it's safe to say you have 7.6MB.

The videos may not have been that big. Try deleting (or moving to the PC) something large and see what happens.

If you have recently move to 4.5 OS you may want to move the contents of the card to your PC and format your card from your BB and then put the files back. Just a thought.

Are you actually deleting them? How are you deleting them? Some OS's use a recycle bin type folder on the drive itself...

When you look at the card through explorer (assuming Windows) make sure you have the view set to show all hidden and show system files...look around and see what's takng up space...

Best bet for now..

Cheers!

I realized my problem. I kept deleting these videos from the BB while it was connected to the Mac. But it wouldn't restore the memory. But when i delete it from DM or from the BB itself it restores the memory
